should the ICC ranking system take into consideration how badly a team was beaten into their calculations?

We all know the ICC ranking system, & it works on win/losses, home wins, away wins & the ranking of the team they were playing. But should the system take into consideration how bad a defeat or how convincingly a team won by into their calculations?

e.g. Considering India lost their last 2 tests by an innings +, should that be taken into consideration when calculating a teams position in the rankings?

They do, win or loss margin by wickets or runs is taken into account, when calculating the rankings. Rankings depend on score and score do take into consideration the loss/win ratio.

They do. Once this series finishes, India will drop down to three. An away series win for us in the West Indies may see us overtake India.

It should do like most other sports, but the ICC lacks common sense otherwise they would have made the review system compulsory and kept it compulsory despite the pressure and harassment from the bullies behind the BCCI.
