I keep getting a little sign, script is running and slowing IE, on occasion I get endless pages loading?

mostly this happens on FB while playing games. I have Vista, have tried opening in safe mode, and have cleared browser, run virus, any ideas what this could be, and how to get rid of it?

    1. Uninstall IE and restart machine. Reinstall while not having any other program running

    2. Use a browser other than IE (Firefox or Chrome). IE is bad news.

    3. Upgrade to Win 7. Vista is problematic.

    It could be a virus, re-install windows.
