Is atheists telling us how to pray much like vegans tell me how to eat meat?

lol, it easily would not make you much less of a vegetarian. i think of this is great while somebody can recover from a yearning with out sacrificing their ideals. we can't help it if we get occasional cravings, this is not some thing somebody has administration over. in any case, I devour them in some circumstances. perhaps as quickly as a week. incredibly, two times or so a week could be extra like my cut back if this is abode made, or perhaps under as quickly as a week if this is the processed stuff from the shop. So yeah, a vegan can know ALL about clean meats (I know many) but choose not to eat it.

Similarly (you guessed it) an atheist can (theoretically) know how to tell you to pray properly by understanding the concept better than most. They may choose NOT to pray however due to the stigmata of "everybody" praying to get what they want from a "real life" loving God. In other words; an atheist may not pray due to his perception of prayer being like carbon emissions. Necessary for some, but dirty & destructive to the environment. An atheist may see prayer as a form of weakness (and a sign that he should act) rather than what he SHOULD see it as, and what he probably (internally) DOES see it as. He may have a conflict of reason, but he may also know how real prayer works. Prayer = gratitude.

I do it because I think people should practice what they preach.

If you want to ignore a portion of the Bible, go right ahead. But don't in the next breath, tell me that the Bible is inerrant or the inspired word of God or whatever.

The same reason I would tell Muslim cab drivers who stop the traffic in New York city streets to pray & block the streets. People use religion as an adolescent attention getting tool in order to manipulate for power or to show off see I am praying aren't I special and better than those who do not. I am not saying it is wrong for you to be thank full for having the opportunity to be alive & well if that is truly what your intent is in praying to the source of our existence but when a person does it for the reasons I mentioned above or as in the Muslims case in New York it is used as a tool to dominate & divide.

The meaning of an Atheist is without (A) Theos Greek for utterances or sayings. Theist comes from the word Theos. We are all atheist if we do not believe in one another’s utterances.

The word god comes from the German word Godan/Gotten which comes from the Norse male myth deity Wotan/Odin.

In fact evil is written within all these man made religions but they deceive you by expecting you to have the little girl/boy mind and not question what all is in these books. Now that there is the internet we can pull up information about what is in all these religions. There is a lot of history that surrounds all the religions that exist outside of what is written in the religious text. Here is some not so nice things the myth Jesus & new & old testament says.

By the way the word Lord comes from Europe. A Lord was a land owner. You could not leave the Lord (land owner) without his permission. If you did you would be captured/ punished or killed by the Lord…….Look up the futile system in Europe. Why do you think our relatives left Europe? It is pure ignorance to say Jesus is Lord………

How is the bible much different from Islam?

There is a damn good reason why there is a separation from religion & state. Women did not get the right to vote until the 1920's because of the cruel/misogynistic bible.

All they're saying is that if you want to follow the Bible, you should probably do what it says, not pray in front of an audience.

Because it's pretty funny how Christians claim to follow the Bible and then proceed to break every rule for behavior outlined in it.

For a not so long and thought out answer they just don't want to hear us pray. Just like non smokers don't want to smell smokers cigarettes.

Are you denying the point? The Bible DOES say that we should pray in private.
