Why does a gay person go to church - a christian church?
If you are gay, do you still claim you are a christian? Are you hoping to go straight again? Because the Bible is clearly anti-gay.
Jesus is the same God in the Old Testament so he had said enough about homosexuality.
MJR - cherry picked? Say no more. Following Jesus and forget about the rest of the Bible is not cherry picked? You have to be hot or cold you can't be both.

Have you considered joining the Tea Party, and going to some of our Tea Party rallies, if you haven't already?

Which is why people nowadays make the distinction between a Christian and a Bible-worshipper. A Christian tries to live according to the dictates of Christ, not judging people, helping the poor, accepting everybody.
A Bible-worshipper cherry picks quotes from the Bible to further their political goals, which are usually grounded in hatred and intolerance.
And the Bible is not "anti-gay. Paul is anti-gay. Jesus himself was silent on the matter. And Jesus's role was that of a reformer and a renewer. He updated the laws of Moses.

I was never straight to begin with so I can't go back to something I never was. Same reason why you can't up and decide to be gay. Don't ask any more questions until you become more intelligent.
Gay people go to church for the same reason heterosexual people go to church. Because they have been tricked into believing a mythical being floats in the sky and controls the world.
In my opinion you are wasting your time in church just as much as they are.
Do you believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy too?

"Christians" aren't true Christians. The Bible is a flawed book written by flawed men who people thought were "holy".
The Bible isn't "the Word of God".
Moses was a homophobe.
Paul was a gay-hater. He even hated Christians until he started saying that he didn't, but he was a Pharisee at heart.
I like David from the Bible. He had the courage to love another man and say that his love for Jonathan was better than the love of women. They even cried together and kissed each other, something some men today would think is sissyish to do.

Well the Bible isn't clearly almost anything for every scripture you can find supporting something I can 2 or 3 that say the opposite especially if you let me jump back and forth between old and new testaments.

They believe God loves them as they are. If homosexuality is a sin, they'll take that up with him when they get there.
And one does not chose their sexuality. I doubt if you stayed up in the middle night asking yourself if you're going to be gay or straight. Did you?

Gay folks are either courageous (or attention ballerinas) depending on your point of view. There are plenty of other people who go to church and have sex with unwed girlfriends, screw other peoples wives, or snatch any opportunity for casual sex, but keep their sleazy lives secret.
Like I say, it is up to you to Gays as honest and outgoing, or attention ballerinas.

Maybe because they are Christian?
What, expecting them to roll up to a synagogue or mosque instead?
If it is their religion, it is their religion.
