Do you feel you are born with a sense of Humor or do you have to work at it?

A sense of humor is inborn. You either have one or you don't. Most of the people in my family have a great sense of humor. We make each other laugh like loons! However there is one who just doesn't get "it" ! When everyone else is laughing this person feels "left out". This person will do or say something funny by accident; and we will all laugh. The person will have no clue as to why what was said or done is funny.

Then, the person does or says the thing over and over thinking that it will still be funny.....and of course it isn't funny anymore. It's uncomfortable. The person is Intelligent, compassionate, and inventive, but has absolutely no sense of humor. It's sad because humor is so important in personal relationships and when it is missing, it is noticeable.

I think a good sense of humor is something you are born with. Those who don't catch onto the funny things in life never do enjoy jokes and crazy situations like those of us who were born with a Funny Bone. For example, my daughter is highly intelligent but jokes have to be explained to her. She sincerely asks why it is funny. When she was a child she would memorize jokes and rehearse them because she so badly wanted a sense of humor. About the only thing that would send her into gales of laughter was slapstick humor in cartoons or The Three Stooges.

I think i'm funny with a good sense of humor . But i can't make my wife laugh, She laugh when im not being funny LOL

ah well yes I have a dark comical sense of humour which panders to the satrical sarcastic way of life, it comes so easily as is displayed in many an answer.

I think you are born with one. It's like intelligence. You don't need to go to a fine school and get a fancy diploma to be intelligent. You either have it or you don't.

I think it comes with experiencing life. If you are lucky, you were raised by parents who knew how to laugh through adversity.

My wife says, I always were a funny Burgher!, hope she means it, in a nice way?.....

I think a sense of humor would be EXTREMELY CRUEL JESUS try living in ohio
