I love Ron Paul's Constitutional approach, but when I argue a historical fact, I get insulted- Why?

I love Ron Paul's Constitutional approach... but he's way off base when he says it's our fault the terrorists attack us (because we are there). It's nonsense. Jefferson had a Koran to study the enemy. We were paying muslims a tribute (protection money) so they wouldn't attack our ships. They did anyway. They have been against us and anyone not like them since their cult began- not because we were not following the Golden Rule.

Jefferson studied and learned they were taught to lie and break treaties with us "infidels." He learned they take advantage of us "infidels" through Taqiya- the practice of lying to or taking advantage of good natured "infidels." He sent in the Marines. This is why their Hymn says "to the shores of Tripoli." It's been going on even longer than that. Read Robert Spencer's The Truth About Mohammed (written solely using islamic historical sources!). Hopefully one of Paul's supporters will hand him a copy and he can start learning about the threats we are facing.

Seriously- address these historical facts. How can any logical person claim that it is our fault? Or advocate leaving them unchecked?

Turning a blind eye to radical islam would be as bad or worse than turning a blind eye to Hitler. We can't police the world, but we have to stop the radical islamists from becoming too powerful.

---

Before someone says it, no, Iraq wasn't useless. We got 500 tons of yellowcake out of there and removed a horrible tyrant. Granted, it would have gone better if we hadn't been so PC and made the troops fight for the same ground over and over again... but the politicians were determined to hose things up so they could point fingers (and that's a different issue anyway)...

---

Again, I love his Constitutional ideas for government, and think he could do great things if it weren't for this willful blindness to history. Instead of logical discussion of historical points, I've only ever gotten insults. I want to be able to support the most Constitutional candidate, but can't support someone who would undermine national security and freedom in the long run by turning a blind eye to islamic expansionism that surpases Hitler in brutality. Why turn a blind eye to history and claim it is our fault they hate us?

Update:

Destined- please don't just give me the typical "war-monger" insults. Address the historical fact. They have been attacking us since we began as a country long BEFORE we got involved in the middle east. They attacked us then, which got us involved. It's not that we are telling them they can't believe what they want- it's that their beliefs teach them to lie to us, break treaties with us, and kill us if we don't believe what they believe!

Update 2:

Once again, people aren't addressing anything other than recent history. The islamists are worse than Hitler. To those who say we shouldn't get involved- you're basically arguing to let someone like Hitler do whatever he wants. That's not logical.

As far as not finding WMDs in Iraq- we did find 500 tons of yellowcake there. I was in Baghdad when it happened. I spent 16 months there and came home to a cheating (now ex) spouse who spent everything I had... but we did a lot of good, so it was worth the pain.

Update 3:

Justgrandma- your link to snopes even says we got yellowcake out of there, if you bothered to read it! It just defends Saddam and says it's not proof he was using it in a weapons program. LOL.

Update 4:

Justgrandma- Read that book by Robert Spencer. Islam teaches to convert by the sword. Christianity teaches to convert through love and to live at peace with others as much as you are able. I love how people throw around "The Crusades" as if that invalidates Christianity- when in fact it was islamic tyranny which was the driving factor. Granted there were atrocities, but I'd argue that those committing them were not following Jesus' teachings to love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. Those on the islamic side were however following mohammed's teachings when they were most brutal.

Update 5:

thereligionofpeace.com for some stats. They will not be peaceful, even left alone. They are expansionists and violently diametrically opposed to everyone but those who are exactly like them.

i like Ron Paul's stand on distinctive subjects. i think of Ron Paul version 2.0 could desire to win the presidency sometime, yet this version could no longer win on the national degree. do you be attentive to that Ron Paul has had banner provides on race based White internet web pages? you may no longer try this and win a countrywide election. If Ron Paul have been given the nomination the media will run this tale on a daily basis till the election, and he will lose.

I don't see any historical facts in there.

That's not why Jefferson had a Koran. The Barbary Pirates were our enemies, but Morocco was the first nation to recognize the US. We had better relations with many of the Muslim states than some of the European powers.

And we didn't find any uranium at all in Iraq. You've been lied to.

Edit: Sorry, but given there have been zero reports of finding any uranium (not the mention the intel they were even trying to get any was bogus), the only conclusion I can come to is that you are lying.

You also don't know a damn thin about Islam. They can't convert by the sword. They converted people by the pocket book. They conquered countries, then taxed them. Muslims had lower taxes.

On the other hand, Christianity did convert by the sword. Look up the northern crusades.

We got no yellowcake out of there.

Islam, like Christianity, like any proselytizing religion believes in spreading their religion around the world. Often at the point of a sword.

Or have the Crusades slipped your historical studies?

The Muslims want to convert everyone to their religions, and the Christians want to convert everyone to their religions, clashes are inevitable.

Paul has more problems than his stance on Islam when it comes to foreign and domestic policies.

If you found it, you'd better be sure you aren't breaching security talking about it, because no one else says it was there. Do read all the way to the bottom, this wasn't new yellowcake that Bush claimed entered the country in a attempt to build a dirty bomb, this was old stuff already known and figured in by the UN.

OK, you aren't fond of the Crusades, so how's the Inqusition for you? Or the Reformation, or the constant problems of the Schism? The problem is religion, yours, mine, theirs.

When you carry the opinion that you are rescuing souls from eternal hell, you don't always do it by love. And even in love you can destroy a culture.

The problem is not God, the problem is man.

The problem is not that they ignore historical fact, its that we are all inclined to ignore religious fact.

This isn't an east/west problem its a religious war to them.

Entirely incorrect, the first nation to recognize the US was Morocco. The founders even made a treaty with the Sultan, declaring America to not be a Christian nation, and to not prevent the building mosques on American soil.

Blowback is real. The US funded the Mujaheddin fighting the Soviets, they later became elements of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. The US gave weapons to wage war against Iran, so any weapons of mass destruction they had were American. The US propped up the Shah of Iran, so when he was overthrown, the government which replaced him hated the US, and they did the same thing in Cuba. The US keeps the Saudi monarchy in place, which funds Al-Shabbab, Boko Harem and Al-Qaeda, and keeps an environment in their nation which breeds extremists (such as bin Laden, and most of the 9/11 hijackers). So basically all of America's enemies (with the exception of North Korea) are America's fault.

He is not turning a blind eye. He just doesn't want us in there countries telling them what to do. We should just let them be! If they should interfere with our ships in the gulf, we come back with a swift hand. I've been in the gulf over 20 times, and in many of the countries over there. It is a big waste!

I wish that we could make a bomb the size of the world and cookie cutter the united states and israel out of the bomb, and then blow everybody else up. Then Israel and us would be the only two countries left on the face of the earth. Then everything would be peaceful and we wouldn't have to bomb anybody anymore.

That's sarcasm above btw, for all the morons out there who might misinterpret it as a real opinion.

For me, it's because I'm sick to death of having RP shoved down my throat with the same insults thrown back like I'm not a "true American" because I don't agree with Ron Paul.

Because I had to hide my email address because his bully supporters wouldn't stop emailing me his propaganda.

    Enough already

We have been pissing off the middle east since the 70's, we should stay out of their problems. I assure you that if we had never been over there they would have no reason to fly planes into our buildings, they would be focusing on Israel. Therefore we made it our problem.

We need to start a war against Iran. I got in an argument with a liberal about this one time. That liberal tried to tell me that the Iraq war was unnecessary. He claimed that Iraq never actually had any WMD's and had no connections to 9/11. I quickly explained to him how I heard on Fox News that Iraq did have WMD's and they were connected to 9/11.

He also tried to tell me that the US getting attacked on 9/11 might have something to do with the fact that the US has bombed 33 countries since the end of WW2. Wrong. Terrorists are angry at us because they hate our freedoms. They're angry that we have a constitution and a bill of rights and so that's why they attacked us on 9/11. Liberals are so Naive. Peace isn't an option as liberals claim it is.

We need to start a war against Iran to stop them from making WMD's and because, like Iraq, they also had connections to the 9/11 attacks.

If you can watch this video and countermand the points it makes about Iran and blowback you could become convincing.
