Why does my boss have many companies at companies house?
I have looked at Companies House at my boss and he has many companies that have been dissolved over 20 years. He is an accountant and I can see that a number of these businesses are infact some of our clients business and he is down as a Company director or he has resigned as a company director.
Why would you do this?
Is he dodgy?
Or is it part of his job as an accountant to set up companies for clients and have his name on them?
Thank you

Nothing wrong with having lots of companies, dissolved or otherwise. I myself have dozens.

Like alikat I don't think there is anything dodgy but it's not normal for an accountant to be a Director of a Company and be its Accountant as well and more especially if he is an Auditor. There is of course nothing to prevent him owning shares in a company and being a Director in his personal capacity. Neither do you say whether he is a private accountant or a member of staff of one of the bigger corporate outfits.

It's not doggy its fine, also down to him being an accountant he may have wrapped up the companies for people who went into liquidation.
