When a protein is denatured, its shape (secondary, tertiary, and quaternary structure) is changed so that it is no longer effective. One way this can happen in humans is having the body temperature increase too much (this is why having too high a fever is bad for you) or by having the pH increase or decrease beyond optimal levels. Protein denaturation won't cause mutations since these come about by changes in the DNA, but can lead to various diseases. Classic examples of a disease from protein denaturation are Alzheimer's, Huntington's, and Parkinson's, as well as other dementia-related diseases where proteins aggregate in the brain.

A- true (cell walls for instance) B- yes- true C- Yes- true D- Yes-true *E*- No- NOT TRUE some proteins CAN be re"natured" if the denaturing force is removed (not so with egg whites!)Read carefully guys! I don't like this question, it is poorly written (from a teacher's standpoint) because both A and E have examples of sometimes denaturing, and sometimes not denaturing under these circumstances. But because it says in A; "Denaturing CAN result" Yes, its true, it can. But E should have been more specific: always, sometimes irreversible.... you know? still this is the best answer

Cataracts- Are due to UV light coming in through the eye, denaturing protein, causing eye to lose function and fogginess appears. There is surgery now, ciliary muscles are used to remove and attach a new lens.

It can actually hinders or disrupt the human body system. Protein denaturation is quite general of it's term as protein can be enzymes and many other 'things' in our body.
