Macbook Pro or Macbook Air?

I am in the market for a laptop and have narrowed it down to the macbook pro and macbook air. I am worried that the macbook air will break due to how thin it is but prefer its price over the pro. What is your experience?

As an owner of MacBook Air and Pro, I can assure you that the MacBook Air may be thin but its strong and won't break as easily. The purpose of MacBook Air is mainly for portability, its SSD harddrive (with no CD/DVD Drive) allows the Air to have the longest battery life than other laptops (only comparing to Apple laptops). The only reason why I prefer a Pro over an Air is because of its performance. If you consider a 13" MacBook Air and 13" MacBook Pro, the processor speed is much faster in the Pro than Air. Extra Performance is handy for future times because as technology and software advances, your components of your laptop components will be outdated, therefore your laptop will become slow (because of future softwares, they demand lots of processing in order to run). In terms of GPU, MacBook Air 11" has an Intel 3000 HD Graphics with 256MB shared memory while the 13" MacBook Air and MacBook Pro has Intel 3000 HD Graphics with 384MB shared memory. I would recommend a MacBook Pro 13", you won't be disappointed in terms of portability, battery life and performance.

The Air uses Flash memory and not an SSD by the way.

I went with the 15" Pro because I wanted an internal disk drive and a better CPU. I love it and I know I made the right choice. Also keep in mind the Intel graphics scales as you put more RAM in the system. At 4GB you have 384MB and at 8GB you have 512MB.

Another point for the Pro is that you can install a SSD or Hybrid drive if you want to and install another HDD in place of the disk drive.

Only a dozen people ask this daily.

As everyone says in every question: Pro for performance. Air for portability. What's more important to you?

I had the pro in the past and I found it too heavy for my purposes so I switched to the air. If I had done more video editing I probably would have stuck with the pro.

Also the air is thing but not flimsy. It feels more solid than some giant windows laptops.

The Pro and Air I believe do have the same intel proccesor. If you want more space go with the pro because it has a hard drive. If you want an SSD (solid state drive) standard go with the air. Do you do a lot of traveling?? If you do air is for you it thin and doesn't break easily. If you really don't travel go with the pro. If you are a gamer don't get the air. Get the pro. The air will not break easily it's made out of the same exact aluminum as the pro and they are incredibly rock solid. My personal decision is to go for the pro.

Mac Book Pro is more for professional and business but if you're looking for a fantastic, super light, thin, every day casual laptop, then no doubt you should buy a Mac Book Air! Mac Book Pro gets super hot very fast and isn't as good imo

I m so confused. I understand that the air is light and the pro has good performance, but I want something good for school, so it needs to be portable AND work good. Which one should I lean toward, then?
