VW gas tank thread seal, what's best?
I am putting my gas tank back in tomorrow,* I took it out because it was leaking around the joint where the gas line threads on to the bottom of the tank. What is the best thread sealer for this? Should I use the black gasket shellac or the teflon tape? Is there something better?

It shouldn't need any sealant it is a tapered seat, like a brake line.
