can you wash thin knit sweaters in the washer?

the washer has a handwash setting, with extra slow agitation and slow spin cycle. i've seen wash bags in the supermarket and the labels say you have to put delicates and knit sweaters in them before throwing it in the washer. any experience you've had with this situation will be much appreciated. thanks! Ü

    If the sweater is washable yes. Read the tag. I would think you could use Your delicate cycle and the bag.

    Its not the wash cycle but the spin cycle that messes up sweaters. The wash bag should keep them from getting stretched out.
