    Four stories come to mind.

    1) Post-crisis Superman fight freed pre-crisis phantom zone criminals. The criminals are stronger than him.

    2) First fight with Mongul. This is a severely weakened Superman battling Mongul in an arena.

    3) Supermen fighting Superboy-prime during Infinite Crisis.

    4) Superman vs. Doomsday. A fight to the death.

    No particular order here.
