Christians what are your thoughts on the following?

I believe that basically speaking, rock music in and of itself is problematic—period. And I believe that for many reasons. One is: rock music is a product of a disoriented, despairing, drug-related sex-mad generation. There’s no question about that. The first big rock singer was Elvis Presley, who killed himself with drugs and who went through women continuously. And he gave rise to the whole rock generation. He was the first, and his whole act was sexual, sensual. Nowadays the vernacular of rock music at this particular point represents a generation that I have real trouble identifying with. And what happens is if you put a Christian message in that vernacular, I think Christianity suffers immensely because I don’t think you can take that kind of medium and use it to propagate a Christian message. This is what I see happening in most churches today. It seems to me that people are going to church today to be entertained rather than worship God and grow spiritually.

Update:

I would add In the Bible, good music sounds nice and gives praise and honor to God (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16; I Sam. 16:23; I Chron. 23:5; Psa. 150; Rev. 5:8-10), but bad music sounds like "a noise of war" and it gives praise and honor to FALSE gods (Exo. 32:17-19; Dan. 3:5-7).

Rock and Roll is a style of music. There are several sub genres within it. You can praise God or curse Him with any music. Music in and of itself is not particularly evil or good. (I think music gives evidence of God's existance, so it is intrinsically good.)

To your point that many are going to church to be entertained, I am sorry that I agree with you. People go to churches usually because they have a good pastor that they like to hear preach. You have a good point about worship. Church should not be about what you get out of it, but what you put into it.
