Obama says the middle class is vanishing and we must save it?
This is obviously a top priority for him. What has he done over the past four years to save the middle class?
Deuce - Thank you but could you add details about how these things save the middle class? Obama has brought some of the troops home, but not many. As for saving the automotive industry, he used taxpayer money to bail them out which actually cost the middle class billions that we don't have. Obamacare will also hurt the middle class by forcing prices up and driving quality down. Middle class taxpayers will be forced to pay billions while health care becomes more expensive, less accessible and of lower quality. I'm not sure that he offers balance and dignity. How do you see him doing this and how does it help the middle class? He is building a bigger government and someone has to pay for that.
I appreciate the answers, but I'm not seeing evidence that what Obama has done has saved the middle class. In fact, by bailing out the viable auto industry, he has set a dangerous precedent. For starters, he saved millions of middle class jobs in the auto industry.
He's overhaul the health care industry so that those middle class citizens who made too much to get government assistance in health care and not enough to afford their own insurance will be able to do so now.
He's also made it possible for more middle class families to be eligible for student grants and loans.
