Tips on a "Mile Run?"?
Okay so, In my school P.E. class we have to Jog a mile. Sometimes more sometimes less. It is about 15 laps in our gym. we do a 5 minute jog 2 minute walk 5 minute jog.. etc. etc.. I can jog for a bit but then I start getting out of breath about 3 minutes in. They make us do the 5 minutes again if we walk for say more then 10 seconds. Is there anyway to have more breath while jogging/running like breathing through your nose out your mouth (which is what I do.) Or is there a proper way to do it?

Pretty much you get out of breath by working too hard, in your case starting too fast. You only need to drop your speed a little bit normally to go further before you need to stop. When you set of go at a speed where you could chat to the person next to you or sing in your head

Jog slower! That's the simple answer mate. Its all about starting off at a really slow pace and just being consistent. Most inexperienced runners take off too quick especially in a group because you are running with others that may be fitter and you go at their pace.
Go as slow as possible without walking and just see if you can last 5 minutes then. Goes without saying if you jog and train regularly you'll improve.

Well yes you are breathing right, but do you put your hands in a ball or do you keep them open if you keep them open that may help. Also keep your arms at your sides and bring them to about a 90 degree angle. If you are starting to feel tierd or heavy in your hands shake them that usually helps just to let you know i know this because i am a Cross Country runner.

the only way to breathe is to jog everyday , developing cardiovascular and respiratory fitness requires years of consistent training, you have to run a good 5 to 6 days a week in order to develop stamina i kid you not

in addition to Kris' answer, make sure your arms don't cross your body. They should be swinging foward. This will maximize the foward momentum caused by your arms.
