Will I be able to make a Java game by November?

I've been learning Java ever since Christmas, and I can't really tell if I'm gonna be able to know Java enough by November to be able to make a simple game. I'm planning on making a game for my family next christmas.

If I work on Java non-stop until November, do you think I'll know it good enough to make a simple game? I really don't know much right now. I know how to make a program that asks your name and location, then says "Hello, <name> of <location>."

It will take a book to reveal technique. If you have a bookstore in your area look through Java Game Programming books. I will comment that any of the Java books make sense when you read read them, but the harder part is taking their ideas to make your own idea work.

However, a computer game is animation. Animation is boilerplate coding. You need to study hard the concept of Object and I think your goal is attainable.

yes it is possible but what you know right now is no enough at all ...if you have good technical mind you can learn things very fast, but you should have a good vision of what you are going to do. you really need to work hard a lot to make a simple games ... first decide yes you really want to make a game

and then stick with it ...just stick with it..
