I have no experience in game development, and I'm wondering if an idea thought of by someone who has no experience in game development would actually work. I've been writing an idea for a game on notepad for about 2 weeks. I'm trying to think of about every detail, such as the story, the controls, the level design, what NPCS say, etc. I'm even trying to write songs on the piano for the game for fun. I don't ever expect my game idea to be made, I'm kind of just doing this whole thing for fun. I believe it's original, and I don't see any flaws with it.

Do all games ideas suck? Every single one? I find this hard to believe. I've played lots of video games, so I feel like writing an idea with no flaws shouldn't be that hard. Sure, there are flaws like a key conflicting with another one, or maybe no possible way to get to the next level or anything, but there are also flaws like something in the game not even being possible, or the game being too laggy.

Even though I don't know anything about game development, I disagree with the person who wrote that. I could be entirely wrong.

So, like I asked before, do all game ideas actually suck?

There seem to be hackers in tons of online games. For example, tons of Nexon games.

What is the most effective way for a game developer to prevent people from changing the code and being able to do basically anything?

I have a really good idea for a game that I think is original, but I don't know how to program or anything. Is it possible to suggest it to a game development company and have them develop it, or do those companies only like ideas they thought of?

Take Minecraft for example. If that game was only made for windows, how hard would it be for Notch to make it mac compatible?

He never does anything. My life has been really dull lately because everyone in my family is on the computer. Up until I was about 10 (I'm 13 and my brother is 14 now), my brother got addicted to the computer. He never gets off until supper.

He also refuses to do school a lot of the time. We're both homeschooled. When he is finally forced to do school (about every day) he just keeps giving loud obvious sighs as if he shouldn't even have to do it.

We used to jump on the trampoline and stuff and play games and at least be outside, but I don't really even feel like I have a brother anymore. This has been going on for basically 3 years now. I also have a neighbor who is one year older than my brother (me and my brother have known him basically forever since he lives next door), and he comes over to my house and expects my brother to at least get out of the office, which is where the computer is. He doesn't even say hello to him or anything.

This is starting to bother me a lot. My brother who is 21 is gonna be moving out in a few months, which is gonna suck pretty bad if my life just goes on like this. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get him to even get out of the office or something?

I've been told I have perfect pitch. I'm not amazing or anything though, the only thing I can really do is have someone play a note while I'm not looking and then play the same note they played. I can also have them play about 3-4 notes at the same time and play all of the same ones they played.

Anyways, quite a while ago a song was playing in a store (I don't remember which song), then a few days later that song basically replayed in my head. I pressed a key on the piano of what I thought the beginning of the song sounded like, and it was the exact same key.

It wasn't stuck in my head for a long time or anything, I just sort of remembered it in the exact same pitch somehow. I've never done that before, and it was at a really random time too. I was just sitting at my computer when I remembered the song.

Like a platformer or something.

I'll be going to this huge open gym with about 20 teenagers every other week. I went today and I brought all of my nerf guns. It was actually pretty awesome, so now I wanna buy more nerf guns.

Which nerf guns would be good for a place like that?

Yeah, I also realize that just replaces every 'c' with 'C', but that isn't really important right now. If you want you can tell me how to fix that, but I just wanna know how to change more than one thing in a string like I said.

I have an extremely hard time trying to read fiction books. My parents really want me to read more and I've been trying, but I find fiction books very uninteresting.

Books with facts and stuff I find interesting, or maybe books that teach you how to do stuff. But seriously, when I'm reading a fiction but I just constantly realize I read 2 pages without even paying attention to what it says.

So first of all, I'm really lonely. Ugh, this whole thing is gonna sound dumb, but I don't really care. When I just turned 11 (I'm 13 now) I payed for this dumb kids game online. I found this really entertaining girl to talk to, and we talked on that game for about 6 months. The communication in it is horrible, it censors certain words that don't even make sense, so you've gotta spell it weirdly. For example, October would be:

I got pretty sick of having to type like that, so we finally tried to get another way to communicate. She told me her email (afterwards we both got banned for a week) by spelling out words with the numbers of letters of the alphabet. For example, if part of the email had an 'a' in it, it would be a 1. That took a while.

But anyhow, we finally started emailing eachother. This is the weird part that I don't even understand. After about a year of emailling, somehow I just got too shy to even say anything at all. I stopped responding, and then she started to think I was ignoring her. I wasn't, I just didn't know what to say anymore. I definitely wanted to talk to her, I just couldn't say anything. I don't know why.

After about 6 months I apologized (she was still trying to emailing me after 6 months..) and we started talking again. I couldn't get used to talking again at all, so I just stopped. Aand she's still sending me emails too. I'm an idiot. I just wish I wasn't so shy anymore. I'm shy around almost everyone. I used to not really care about what I said too much, but now I just think about what I'm going to say so much that I just decide not to say it.

This all sounds really dumb, doesn't it? I don't know how else to word it. I just wanna know what I should do. I feel like a huge jerk for not responding. I explained some of this to her but I felt too dumb to even explain the rest. Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention I'm homeschooled. <_<

Even when I was emailing her, I just felt really nervous. It took several days to respond just due to me being nervous. Yup.

I'm trying to get my server really popular. It has 160 slots, and I've advertised it on planetminecraft.com, mcserverlist.net, and minecraftforum.net. I got up to an average of 10 people. It's a PvP server.

The annoying thing is, after I advertise it and about 10 people join, they're all like "i like this sever because it dosent have many people in it" "servers with to many people are bad". Is there just a way I can get it popular? Re-advertising it is annoying and against the rules.

Then after about 10 people join, half of them leave. So then it's basically how it was afterwards. I don't really think I'm doing a bad job with the server. The spawn is really nice, it has a good PvP arena, and it has a good mob arena.

How can I get it so the server is almost always full? (the server doesn't lag at all either)

It isn't a big deal at all, but sometimes my dog doesn't wanna leave the room she's in. She will just stand at the exit as if there's some wall blocking her. We have to get some dog food and just lure her out. Even when we're doing that it takes a while for her to leave. When she finally decides to leave the room, she walks really quickly.

It just happened a few minutes ago. The last time it happened was about 6 months ago, and she's been doing it a lot since then. Like I said, it's no big deal. It's just kinda weird. She's an 8 year old husky/hound.

Take Minecraft for example. Notch is able to make it update whenever he wants. How exactly does he do that?

I've been learning Java ever since Christmas, and I can't really tell if I'm gonna be able to know Java enough by November to be able to make a simple game. I'm planning on making a game for my family next christmas.

If I work on Java non-stop until November, do you think I'll know it good enough to make a simple game? I really don't know much right now. I know how to make a program that asks your name and location, then says "Hello, <name> of <location>."
