Atonement vs Attunement : Which is the way of attainment that leads to adornment?

atonement

a. the reconciliation of man with God through the life, sufferings, and sacrificial death of Christ

b. the sufferings and death of Christ

at·tuned, at·tun·ing, at·tunes

1. To bring into a harmonious or responsive relationship:

As we can see Atonement is about suffering and sacrifice while Attunement is about harmony, Patriarchal religions preach atonement or suffering and sacrifice while Dharmic traditions teach attunement or harmony. Patriarchal religions preach reliance on the words of the prophets while Dharmic traditions teach reliance upon ones own direct experience.............which is the best way?

I can fall in love with the 'tune' and not the 'tone'. The tune is complete and is in totality. It is inclusive of the tone. So no doubts about it.

Atonement can also mean: "Amends or reparation made for an injury or wrong".

and if we are to become harmonious and responsive in relation to others, we must also come to understand our place in the universe and change our ways and ideas about what a wrong is, and what a relationship represents. Neither suffering nor sacrifice is necessary. Change is the only requirement in achiveing atonement.

We have all harmed someone or something at one time or another, thus atonement is part of the process towards attaining attunement with all of life.

The more in tune we are with life the better.

Personally, I don't prefer to pick and choose based upon doctrine or religious preference. Each to his own. Neither a Christian, nor a Hindu, nor a Buddhist is more or less likely to be in tune with the universal harmony. It's an individual thing, not a cultural or religious thing.

    Peace.

While one should be aware of both atonement and attunement... A good work ethic and a command of social values can lead you in the way of attainment that leads to adornment.
