Does this gun holster and video make anyone else nervous?

Check out this flash bang bra holster and video and tell me if you think its dangerous or I'm just crazy:

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/05/flashbang-b...

1. The device makes me nervous because it has massive muzzle sweep potential and a negligent discharge would likely shoot you in the heart.

2. The video makes me nervous because they have an admittedly complete novice doing fast draws from deep concealment with a loaded gun and already dangerous device. I especially don't like the loaded gun reholster. yikes!

    1. Not something that you could practice with in a public range, but its not much different than a cross draw or shoulder holster.

    2. Agreed. It looked like she had her finger on the trigger before it was out of her shirt and pointed forward. And I definitely think she should remove her shirt entirely to reholster.

I believe that we should form a committee to study this holster as well as inside the thigh holsters. We should take careful, slow motion photos to study all the mechanics involved. Test subjects should practice drawing and reholstering, with unloaded firearms, and initially without any cover to make sure they get it right before progressing. Close, hands-on attention should be paid to fit and comfort.

I have seen that video before, and cringed the entire time. I don't guess the holster itself makes me "too" nervous though since it is in essence just a shoulder holster with the gun in front rather than under the arm. The big thing though is that good modern shoulder holsters have the gun oriented with the barrel down. So that during a draw you're not sweeping everyone to your sides. Those old 1980's Miami Vice shoulder holsters with the barrel pointing out behind you are not worth having. Shoulder holsters themselves are even losing favor. My department banned all shoulder holsters for detectives about 10 years ago. The main issue though was in that it's much easier for someone to take your gun away from you with a shoulder holster. But in a concealable holster like this that's not an issue. But yes, having a novice gun handler doing quick draws with it was INCREDIBLY negligent. I have spent years on ranges with proffesional gun handlers, yet still always start out slow when practicing with a new (to you) holster. Even if she was a bonafide gun expert having her grab this holster she had never practiced with before and jumping straight into quick draws with a loaded gun was just plain outright stupid. With practice I don't think the design itself is overly dangerous. I think re-holstering the thing would be the most dangerous part. As long as you know enough to keep your finger off the trigger during a draw anyway. An AD during a draw might put a round right through your brachial artery.

Oklahoma City is a big town with a tight shooting community. We can shoot some type of completion down here every weekend... hi powered rifle ..action pistol, Cowboy shooting.. we have it.

I do business with the Looper Leather company some. And have had a lot of exposure to the Flash bang holster. It's not the first "bra holster" but it may be the best.

My buddy did the prototype Kydex parts for the development. Lisa Looper and her family have been in the Police equipment and leather game for many years.

Your at no more risk of shooting yourself working out of a Flashbang that you would drawing from any popular shoulder holster.

As far as the girl in the video? She has SHOT a little before. She had not used the Flash-bang prior to the days video work. If you notice she follows giant rule one... finger OUT of the trigger guard until she has target and sights. She shows finger discpline on the re holster cycle too

Some of you folks and your answers really tell me that you are not experienced at all with firearms and are not qualified to dish out advise about whats safe or unsafe.

How many of you people think a Blackhawk Serpa a safe holster? Did you know that many gun trainers and ranges ban those... it's easy to forget the finger when drawing- lots of ND's connected the that "safe" and popular holster... because of poor habits and NO training.

Lot's of military types have had ND's using the M3 and M7 milspec holsters (chest holster)... and all sorts of folks have sent a bullet into their legs and feet working out of belt holsters of all sorts over the years. It's not the arrow folks... it's the Indian. You are as safe as your trained to be.

yea... she has nice guns... even better at room distance- live. And again... she can shoot (her boyfreind does too) ... the video was just her first day with THAT holster)

Source(s): Chamber the Cartridge... are you reading impared or just stupid? No ..she is not in the adult industry. Of course...your comments make me wonder if you have a small p@cker or something. Most cops I've worked with do well to get a quick pair at 7 yards less than 1.5

Its a wonder of marketing, facts are sex sells you think it was a random act that they picked a big boobed sexy girl that your more likely to find on a adult site (wouldn't be surprised if she was) rather than a weapon video. Its stupid because people who have CCW have basic pistol training (at least at the courses near me offer it as part of CCW class) not no training like she does. Not to mention shes firing from the hip which is just wow. I love how the lady in the background is like 1.3 is good, i personally know marines who can lift a M4 fire 2 rounds, drop out empty mag put fresh mag in and hit release ready to rock in like 1.5 yeah it is a few more steps, however while you could argue marines are trained i will argue you don't know how long she practiced removing that pistol before the video nor do you know how many years she's been practicing grabbing her t!ts.

    apparently T I T S is a naughty word.

Do guns in general make you nervous? Because this product is no more dangerous than your average holster. She's not drawing the gun so that it points at her heart. I think they only draw back to this system is that you couldn't ever hug someone without them knowing you've got a gun under there. That and women with very large breasts would have a harder time finding the gun.

Yeah, negligent gun handling could get the holster-bra wearer shot in the chest or (more likely) through the off-hand arm. Not ideal.

But I will admit one thing: Those were some nice guns in that video.

Anything pointing towards my head would make me nervous too. Sorry Toad but my 45-70/450 marlin revolver is a custom gun/w Freedom Arms stamped on it. It's a division of Magnum Research like Smith & Wesson's custom shop is to them. I can only give info on what I own or have done. Sounds like you think You know ALMOST everything. Add this to your unquestionable knowledge and you'll be a step closer!
