Dr. says I'm allergic to the innocuous mites that live on all people?
So, apparently in the last several months, I've developed an allergy to the mites that we all have (all people have mites living on their skin). I've seen 9 different doctors (including 2 dermatologists and an allergist). The doctor that figured out what was wrong has me on a ridiculous amount of antihistamines. They work, but I have side effects from them and if I stop taking them, I'm itching and covered in spots in about 2 days. Has anyone else ever heard of this? I never thought this was possible! It's horrible!

Demadex mites? If so the treatment should be to kill off the mites, as best as you are able rather than just treat the symptoms of the allergy with the antihistamines. A biopsy of the skin or a blood count can show elevated levels of eosinophils, a white blood cell associated with allergic reactions to confirm the suspicion of allergy.
