facebook video upload issues?

I am trying to upload a video from my computer from my camera in the AVI format to facebook I don't know why it doesn't look like it is working. I hit the upload video/photo button, selected my video and select upload, then a pop-up says "please wait while your video is uploading" with what looks like a progress indicator, but nothing is coming up on the progress indicator. I have waited a few hours and nothing, just the same little pop up that says to wait...am I doing something wrong? I have never done this before so I guess I need a bit of direction from those of you who know...thanks :-))

Update:

@?, I'm starting to wonder by your responds if it isn't you & I with the issue, but maybe "facebook"? Pop up still there and nothing...guess I will leave it there till morning and see what happens but I suspect I'll see the same little pop up and nothing in the progress bar...frustrating to say the least because like you, I can't seem to find any answers. Also I don't know what consists of a small video? This is to big to send as an attachment, so I was hoping to put it up on facebook so I could share it with the other 1/2 of the intended party...maybe it's too big? BUT I don't know what too big is...what is the MB cut off for loading a video on facebook...so irritating

Update 2:

I've just decided that facebook video up load sucks, after finally getting to the screen that says I need a verification (took 28 hours for that to show up) and verifying, then waiting 1/2 an hour for the video to actually load, doing what looks like a complete load of the video, the pop up never went away...it just hung there (3 more hours)....nor did my video actually load on my facebook page! So I have just decided it is NOT POSSIBLE to actually load a video on your facebook page it's all a lie and a farce and isn't possible.

You are not allowed to upload copyrighted material to facebook, the photo/video has to be 100% yours That is copyright infringment dude.
