It's not official until the convention actually votes to nominate someone. But for all intents and purposes we know now. Romney is the man backed by the GOP leadership so he is the presumptive nominee. Gingrich and Paul and Santorum can't keep him from winning, but they can make it harder and sow discord in the party.

Aren’t you having a blast watching this bread-and-circuses spectacle, which in January captured a staggering 41% of the combined media stories, 64% of cable TV’s? There’s a headline a second, a new poll a minute, an angry set-to an hour.

With only three primaries and one caucus out of the way, the Republicans have already had 19 (count 'em 19!) televised “debates,” In a season when spectacle and Super Bowl normally go together, the entertainment extravaganza of the moment remains the race for the White House -- and in football terms, we’re still in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

The Republican nominee will debate president Obama after the completion of Republican national convention in Tampa Fla. August 30.

i'm making a wager on John Huntsman. the only mark against him of which i'm conscious is that he's Mormon. yet so is Romney, so why not have a greater important candidate than the wishy-washy Romney? in my opinion, President Obama would be reelected regardless. yet why shouldn't the Republicans placed forth their ultimate, enormously provided that Huntsman is youthful sufficient to run back in 2016, the place he would have a wager.

I can tell you now that Mitt Romney is going to win the nomination. Shortly thereafter he will lose to President Obama.

I will let you know now. MIT Romney will get the nomination but who cares he'll lose to Obama and as far as debates go have you seen Barrack Obama speak. Romney will get his hat handed to him.

There's still a long way to go. A candidate needs to have over 1100 delegates from the primaries and caucuses. The last primaries will be held in June, I believe.
