Why do people talk about and make fun of others?

Some people need a kiss.

Aggression and domination.

either they really like you and their imature way of showing you ,somtimes when it is adults its because they are jelous of you it depends on who it is and the situation depending on your age group and somtimes they have no life them selves,what dont you understand

Its something to talk about. That's literally the main reason. Of course there's those minor secondary reasons people sometimes try to attribute to it like "oh they're just trying to make themselves feel better putting them down" or "they're so nosy and spiteful." But seriously, its just something to talk about. Think about it, the most interesting things that happen to us daily are going to involve people or what we see about people, so naturally we're going to talk about those people and what they do, how they act, etc.

This is called 'Gossip' It is very commen and you may find yourseld doing it. Howeer, they do it because they either don't like the person, their clothes, hair. etc. But, everyone oretty much does this.

people are vicious and prevent their own degredation by putting down other people who may or May not even be a threat. everyone is just so paranoid it kills me
