How can I form a band?
I really want to form a band, like, a moshpitty band >:D I'm pretty good at guitar, piano, lyrics, and singing. I even happen to know a guy (my Dad's friend) with a recording studio that can make us demos and hook us up with a record label. But, unfortunatley, everyone I know either listens to rap/r&b or listens to my kind of stuff (MCR, P!ATD, Blink 182, FOB, Paramore, Muse) but doesn't know how to play an instrument. I live about an hour outside of chicago. (if that helps) How can I find people to be in my band?

Here's an easy way to do it. Pick 3 friends, any friends, and with any musical interests. Make sure one person can sing at least decently. Then go buy Guitar Hero World Tour and start rockin out. Case closed.

Make a flyer and post it up at the bulletin board at Guitar Center
people walk by and look at the bulletin board to find bands that need musicians
and hundreds of people look at that thing each day.

Pass out flyers and put up signs for auditions.
