9mm VS .40cal Reliability?
I'm thinking about getting either the Ruger SR9c or The SR40c. I'm looking for reliability of the gun. I can handle both a 9mm & .40cal just fine. I just wanna know which will maintain it's conditions better.

The SR9 and SR40 use the same basic frame one just fires a larger round so they both use the exact same internals except the barrel, so if the gun fits you its just a matter of picking one I guess I chose a 9mm Beretta because thats the gun that felt the most "right" in my hand so I went with it I also chose the 9mm because it is cheaper and easier to come by and I have the ability to reload my own 9mm's

I would say that over thousands and thousands of rounds the SR40C may wear out slightly earlier that the SR9c. The pressures are about the same, but there is more energy in a 40 S&W. However, I believe this number of rounds is well beyond what the average gun owner will ever shoot in a lifetime. Anyone shooting that much will probably have a different gun or go through multiple guns. So I would say they are for all practical purposes the are equally reliable.

What is it with the questions which make me want to drink heavily?
Dude, 9's and 40's are USUALLY ON THE SAME PLATFORM.
If the guns are designed correctly, and are of decent quality, it really MAKES NO DIFFERENCE.
And anyone who tells you different is trying to sell you something. Seriously.
It's not a matter of which caliber is "more reliable" -- the better question would be, "Which is the most reliable platform/caliber combination?"
But you didn't ask that. You asked a nonsensical question I think was specifically intended to troll.
Congratulations.

Either one is fine.

I did that for 5 years and was promoted by test to detective. I worked violent crime (homicide, sex, officer involved shootings, robbery, kidnapping, serious non property incidents) for 11 years until I was promoted to sergeant. I worked as a street supervisor, a bicycle patrol supervisor and a desk sergeant/watch commander. During my time as a tactical officer and a detective I was a unit representative for the police union. I have a B.A in English and an M.S. in Law Enforcement Administration....
