Jehovah's Witnesses and Bible translations?

Jehovah's Witnesses how do you feel about using other Bible translations. This question isn't concerning the accuracy of the NWT; which has been highly praised for it's accuracy, but whether or not you will use other Bible translations.

    I use other Bible translations all the time. As a group, Jehovah's Witnesses are open-minded enough to read any translation.

    It is to be wondered why many others are too close-minded or biased to read the New World Translation.

    Jehovah's Witnesses are students of the Bible. Basic truth can be found in any translation, when scripture is compared with scripture.

    King James, New King James, English Standard, New American Standard, Revised Standard, American Standard, Young's Literal Translation, Webster's Bible and the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures are the Bible's I use almost daily.

    When I answer questions I research in scriptures that the one asking would be asking about, then I show how their Bible and the NWT are the same and where they do differ I go to the LXX Bible cannon.

    I only carry the King James along with me in the door to door work as that is the most recognized Bible and many times I have shown different ones from there own Bible what the truth is.

    All you skeptics don't realize that the Bible is God's word and no matter how man tries to change it they can't change everything to fit especially when there is more than one translation at our disposal.

    The most accurate translation is the New World Translation but the "TRUTH" can be found in all translations of God's word.

    I use many translations to compare their language. Some are straightforward and others more poetic or expansive.

    Mathew 24:14 tells that the good news would be preached to all nations before the end comes . . to do that there would have to be many translations. Jehovah has put His blessing on most of them.

    The individual words used are not the debating point because Spanish and French have very different grammar use than English. It is the message clarity that counts..

    I feel pretty comfortable using other translations of the Bible for research or even when preaching to someone. After all, pretty much all the translations have the same idea and message behind them, even though the words are different. What is very sad to me is to see how MANY translations of the bible have removed God's name JEHOVAH and replaced it with "Lord' or "God".

    If you have noticed, our magazines and literature regularly include bible verses from OTHER translations. This shows that our teaching is based on GOD'S WORD, regardless if we use our bible translation or others.

    I use a lot of Bible translations, and also the NWT.

    Since I've been a baptized witness, I've read thousands of pages of Watchtower and Awake! Magazines. These magazines-Printed by the Watchtower-have made me familiar with a lot of different Bible translations, and for this I'm grateful.

    New International Version (NIV)

    12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

    The wisdom contained in this verse, ANY translation tells it all.

    Same thought in any language or version or translation.

    No problem what so ever. In my area the Authorized King James Version is highly accepted and I use it most. I also carry my NWT to compare verses and show that they both say the same thing. Eagerly awaiting the availability of the Divine Name King James Bible. Jehovah's name has been replaced 6,972

    times, replacing LORD and KYRIOS.

    I have here, on my table right now, on the spur of the moment. the KJV, American Standard Version and The Bible in Living English......all published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Not to mention all the others on the book shelf. Please don't ask me to count them. :-)

    I have a KJV from 1948 that I've used for bible studies and I only have a Reina Valera in Spanish, which I've also used for bible studies.

    I also go to http://www.biblegateway.com/ to look at other bible translations.
