What is a compassionate conservative?
I don't really want to answer questions here, I'm doing the asking. But I'll share the thought that jumps to mind and leave it there, uncontemplated.
a "compassionate liberal" is probably a redundancy
liberals for many years don't lack compassion, they lack guts. Liberals are wimps.
Giving to someone who says they are a charity doesnt necessarily mean you are helping people. It depends what charity you are giving to. Many give without oversight. Where does it go? I don't know if that's compassion, living in philanthropic moderation, or just ego-digging gullibility.
