Austerity has NEVER worked. (But then I'm not a Republican). All austerity has ever done was to force the middle class and poor to protect the rich from their own over-reaching. And that was the whole idea.

Greece wouldn't have had to do so if far-left policies hadnt brought them to the brink to begin with. Complete austerity is not the answer, but sensible cutbacks are. Not everything is so exteme black and white, there is some room in the middle.
