Crysis 2 PC Issues help?

I have a Asus G1vx laptop, and I installed crysis 2 on it when it came out, played through it a few times, then didn't play it much. Recently I reinstalled windows 7 on my laptop, and with that crysis. I tried to play it again and it worked fine at first. But I quickly noticed a lag. It isn't a FPS lag, it is more of a game play issue. All the in-game mechanics will get supper slow for a second then speed up for a second then get slow again. This makes the game very hard to play, it doesn't matter if I am at a spot with a ton of NPCs or just starting a level. I have tried many of the basic things stuff like turn off vsync and change settings, but I am wondering if it is an issue with my video card driver or crysis updates(I updated drivers when I installed windows)

Specs:

Intel Core 2 duo@ 2.0ghz

Nvidia geforce GTX 260m with 1gb gddr3

4gb DDR2 ram

this used to run crysis just fine

Seems like you'll have to try different drivers alright. Do you remember which version you used before installing Windows 7? Because it's not always the latest drivers which are the best.

Try the 285.62 drivers and see what gives.

Also make sure you have the latest patch for Crysis 2:
