WHAT YEAR???? NEVER NEVER use regular DINO based wax reduction oil in this engine!!! In other words use ONLY synthetic oil. I recommend MOBIL ONE 0W-30 because it is the EASIEST to find. READ your manual about MAZDA oil SPECIFICATION numbers. These are DIFFERENT from just API and SAE service ratings. Many car moakers REQUIRE special additives and properties of engine oil to be used in their engines. If you READ the lables of engine oils, you will SEE what I mean. PENNZOIL ULTRA and some Pennzoil PLPATINUM oils are worthy choices. AMSOIL is another good choice and Castrol Edge is OK! Mobil ONe is the most highly tauted one and for good reasons. It is the FACTORY fill on MANY car engines. if you spot PENNZOIL ULTRA and the label says, "Meets or exceeds specifications for MAZDA." on it, then BUY IT!!! WAlk away from the Quaker STATE!!!! Same for VALVOLINE, which is a WAX based oil. GOOD LUCK!!! Most times an oil with FORD specification numbers is OK to use in a MAZDA!!!
