Actually I have been doing my reading, I would describe myself as a security analyst, and what I should have said is I am looking for a broad spectrum approach.
Because I have an opinion upon a situation does not necessarily make it the only opinion.

Not too many oil contracts for each of them actually, BUT Russia sells a lot of weapons to Syria and its and importan buyer. As for China, I believe its great Russia and China stands together. Btw Russia has its marine\navy there too.

I'm guessing Russia wanted a big payoff to join the U.S. but America is broke right now and couldn't come up with the money.

Make up your own mind for a change. Read as much as you can and then take a considered view. Make it a habit that you have a informed opinion of your own.
