How do i tell my parents i want to get circumcised?

Bryan dude you can just have it done on your own make an appointment with the doctor make sure you are still covered under a insurance policy because it could cost anywhere from 800.00 to 2000.00 to get it done. IF this is what you want done have a urologist do it interview him and ask what he will be doing and is it going to be a tight or loose circumcision all of the recovery questions block 4-6 weeks for recovery. At 18 you are responsable for yourself and do not need thier permission. You should tell them though 'Hey dad i made a appointment to get circumcised thursday can you drive me there?" that will start the conversation.

bryan, at age 18 if you are old enough to join the army then you are old enough to seek out your own circumcision. if you really want to involve your parents, just find a time when you can all sit down together and ask them the basic question as to why they never circumcised you.

i am not sure what you mean by the army not letting you "use any creams." do they have cameras mounting above your beds so they can watch you at night to see if you are jerking off and using cream?

however, bryan, i would like to ask you to seriously consider what you are about to do. nature gave you a foreskin for a reason. just keep yourself clean and be glad that you have everything you are born with. i am jewish -- mine was taken away when i was a week old and i wish i had it back. the foreskin protects the head when you are soft and totally peels back to expose the head and shaft when you are hard, so you don't have to worry about it getting in the way of your fun. it also makes sex a lot more sensual because with the skin, your penis head is not continually exposed to stimulation in your jeans when you walk around.

having the operation done now will be painful and may well leave scars or marks on your manhood.

besides, from what i read in the online forums, most girls prefer penises (peni?) that have the skin on because they enjoy seeing the head emerge as their partners become aroused from being with them.

Hygiene is not a good enough reason alone to get a circumcision. You can clean in there quite thoroughly and easily without a circumcision. If your foreskin is not causing pain or other problems, then there is not other reason for it either. Having a circumcision does NOT improve sex, in fact it removes thousands of nerve endings.

However, you are 18. you don't need your parent's permission to have the procedure done. You will, however, have to find a way to pay for it. If it is not medically necessary, insurance will NOT pay for the operation.

Present your information to them and why you want to get it done. Where it's for hygienic reasons I'm sure they'll understand. Try talking to a surgeon before telling them so they know you're serious and won't change your mind. For starting the conversation, though, just don't bring it up while out in public, at social events, or at the dinner table. Make sure that you're alone with your parents and start talking about how you want to improve your hygiene and how circumcision will help. You don't need their permission, unless of course you are expecting them to foot the bill which you shouldn't. This is cosmetic so it's on you.

Also the bit about not being allowed to use steroid creams in basic training is a lie. That is bure BS. You are allowed to use prescriptions in basic training for anything you want. The military doesn't give a crap you have a tight foreskin.

Dude, you are 18 and don't need you parents approval. I was cut on my 18th birthday, wasn't waiting one more day! Go to you family doctor and have him send you to a Urologist and then have it scheduled. More then likely insurance will cover it, the doctor will figure it out. Don't even bother with your parents and just have it done. Don't believe anything the anti's have to say, it is all BS! Being cut is cleaner, healthier, better looking and improves sexual function. I would never go back and I just had my 3rd son circumcised! No downside, only a lifetime of benefits.

You are 18, if you want to get circumcised get circumcised just know that it is NO more hygienic.

Just tell them it's your choice what you want to do with your body.
