What colour is my horse... seriously (pics included)?
He's only a baby so please don't judge, I just wanna know what colour he is. Obviously he's a blanket appaloosa I know that much but I've been told hes several things including liver chestnut, bay and "weird". He can't be chestnut because the definition of a chestnut horse is strictly no black hairs, and he has black in his mane and tail. But he can't be bay because his legs are the same colour as his body! I believe he will continue to change colour, he's only 21 months old and apparently appys do change up till 7, any suggestions?

Interesting... his mouth freckles and light looking muzzle almost look champagne.
However, unless he has a champagne parent, it is impossible for him to be one.
I also vote for chestnut, a dark mahogany chestnut. I see a lot of Morgans and Arabians with such dark hair. It's not terribly uncommon. He certainly isn't bay.
Enjoy your boy! He sure is a cutie!

He looks like a chestnut to me. He probably just has a few darker hairs in his mane and tail. I've seen chestnuts that have manes and tails dark enough to make you do a double take thinking they were a bay horse (quite scary when you take a quick glance and think the wrong horse is in a field).
