Christians if there were no biblical sanctions, how would you view homosexuality?

Do you have a personal hate, or just the one the bible tells you to have?

Update:

Ben Oni: perhaps you would care proffer an explanation as to what does inspire the christian hate then dear, describing a persons sexuality as an abomination is not exactly my personal way of seeking to endear myself to them

There were no Bible sanctions against homosexuals until the Bible was mistranslated in 1611 (King James Bible)

Then came Paul the bigot, and he made fun of men with long hair and said that homosexuality was abnormal.

Reference: A History Channel documentary "Sex in the Bible"

Some churchie people think the Bible was originally written in English. They have no idea what the real Bible said about homosexuality.

    Excerpt from my novel:

[God on Planet H is explaining a Bible verse to Jesus]

    “Moses wrote (Leviticus 18:12):

‘V’et zachar lo tishkav mishk’vey eeshah toeyvah hee.’

    ‘Which meant:

‘And with a male you shall not lay [in the] lyings of a woman.’ ("lyings" was the name for a wife's wedding bed)

“Which meant at the time: ‘A married man should not engage in sexual behavior with another man’. People at that time thought that same-gender sex, did not count as fornication.

“Consequently, Moses conveyed the gist of harmony on the subject, which is this: When a man spends sexual time with another man, instead of his wife, he is being disharmonious in his marriage and towards his wife.

"Anyone who construes that as a condemnation of all homosexuality is simply stretching it to the point of lying."

“I can see why the religious leaders would like to tell their flocks that homosexuality is a sin in any and every situation; they have always, and they always will try to grow their empires by encouraging their members to have large families. Such is a lazy cowardly way of a leader growing an empire."

I view all act of sex as gross. From the time I was in grade three I suffered from recurring cold sores. I hated them and thought they marred me. They left scars on my lips and around my mouth. By the time I was 18 I was in total despair over my self-image. On top of that I had other issues of how I thought others viewed me that wasn't very mature, but nevertheless, I developed a very bitter attitude toward the opposite sex, aside from the fact that I had 4 brothers and wasn't too impressed with my father's authoritarian methods of parenting....these factors did not help me come to any sort of agreeable way of viewing sex.

I prefer food over sex if given the choice.

Having examined my own attitudes toward sexual things, and seen the repercussions in my older sister's life, I would rather that sex didn't have to occur in this world, and I would say also that I hate it when people make it more important than an actual relationship.

There are other things that have a bearing on my views, and none of them are biblical. The bible is a huge turn off to begin with anyway, and my upbringing didn't need the bible for me to get a perspective on my own sexuality.

I'd rather be a hermit. I could live quite well enough by myself thank you very much, except that I'm very bad at making money.

I don't hate anyone. I ponder on all things though and how they relate.

Nature is efficient. If you really want my honest opinion, I would think something

was wrong in peoples heads that had no boundaries.

Whether it was homosexual acts or acts outside of marriage,

I wonder why enough isn't enough, I wonder over lusts and greeds

and.. like nature has its boundaries why don't people?

Why, if you say it is hate, do homosexuals discard the opposite sex?

If there was no Bible morality why do some people have no use for others?

If the baby that was coming was a boy and it was to be raised by two females that

had no need or use for a male how would it feel? I think how would I feel?

They say it is hate, but isn't it hate of the opposite sex if you have no need

for them EVEN in natural things?

They say you can't help who you love but.... Shouldn't you? If you have a mate shouldn't

you... be loyal? What if it were hetero? Shouldn't you REALLY curb that lust and

know you have a problem with excesses if you love this one then you REALLY find someone

you love later, then the next?

Where is the boundaries that define nature? homosexual acts removes all boundaries of nature there is no use.... there is no..... what comes of it? It is greed alone for the participants with no.... positives for anyone but them.

I say you can most certainly be happy within bounds without greed in things that actually contribute to

life. To me this is just excesses with greed. Just like overeating, overdrinking, oversexed.

If you cannot learn to love someone of the opposite sex you need to find out why. If it is soley the way you are wired then you COULD learn boundaries like anyone with any other problem that needs to learn self control.

I view most excesses this way.

I don't hate or judge anybody, because the Bible says not to.

I do believe homosexuality is wrong. I believe that people who hate homosexual people are just as wrong and deserving of hell as people who practice homosexuality though. And I believe that anyone can go to heaven if they ask God to forgive all their sins, no matter what they have done.

And if there were no biblical sanctions, I wouldn't have a problem with anything.

As a matter of fact, if there were no biblical sanctions at all, I wouldn't believe that anything was wrong.

How many more people have died and will die from such high-risk/abusive sexual acts? Below is the authoritative CDC view:

"At the end of 2006, more than half (53%) of all people living with HIV in the United States were MSM or MSM-IDU. Since the beginning of the US epidemic, MSM have consistently represented the largest percentage of persons diagnosed with AIDS and persons with an AIDS diagnosis who have died."

As for Christians, we agape-love them, and want them to have a full healthy life in Christ.

The main reason why they hate homosexuals is just because the Bible endorses it. Well, it kinda does but doesn't.

It teaches we should let people be who they are as long as that is to what God made us to be.

There is nothing wrong with being homosexual even IF it is a choice. Let people be who they are.

I would view it as another sexual preferment. I don't really care, but always remember why most large and intelligent lifeforms exist.

I would view homosexuality as something unnatural. I don't hate gays or anyone else. But since there are Biblical sanctions, I agree with 1 Cor. 6:9, 10, where it says: "Do not fool yourselves; people who are immoral or who worship idols or are adulterers or HOMOSEXUAL PERVERTS or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves—none of these will possess God's Kingdom." Also, Ro. 1:32 says that homosexuals "deserve death."

True Christians don't hate homosexuals any more than they hate slanderers, drunkards, or idol worshipers.

There are no genuine biblical sanctions against homosexuality. None of the alleged sanctions hold up to detailed academic scrutiny.
