Do I have silicosis or a itchy throat? I'm kinda scared.?

I was crushing rock into powder a few days ago for soil admendment 6 times on occassion. I wore a mask like 4 of the times, but it was just a hospital mask, not a dust mask. I heard acute silicosis can happen immediately if you are near fresh grinded rock with large quantities of dust. I tried not to breathe in very much and it wasn't bellowing everywhere, but it was probably in the air (I was outside).

When I bend my head down, there is a irritation that makes me want to cough. Also when I wheeze, there is irritation right behind my vocal cords. This makes me think that there is an inflammation in my trachea, not in my lungs.

I can take a deep breath without irritation. It has been going on for about 1 week now right about the same time as the rock crushing.. I've also been inhaling a lot of mold from my composting bin and a bit of aersol from acrylic spray lol! What do you guys think?

Make sure you know where your cords are- many people don't. Put you hand over where the irritation you are feeling it. If you're covering your mouth, you're too high- if you're down around the neck chin area, you have it. Irritation can make them swell. A steroid pill from the doc will help you out. Some docs have a camera scope where they can tell right away where the issue is. I've have it done many times and it's a life saver.

I'd also have an allergist test you for a mold allergy- that could be very problematic if you are inhaling it.

Get it checked to be sure- it's not going to hurt at this point
