How to Pierce Own Septum?
Okay im Almost 15 and i really want a Septum piercing, and ever since i was like...11 ive been asking for a septum piercing, I know i want it but my parents keep telling me no and no and i ask at least everyday. I want to pierce it myself now cause all my friends have facial piercings except me.
And if youre gonna say im too young, i dont care
Im a straight A student with AP classes so im pretty responsible and i think i deserve it.
So how do you pierce it and where can you buy the ring?

Lol you sound like a little scene girl wanna be or something. lemme start off by saying, you're lame if you only want piercings because your friends have em. I used to hate girls like you hahaha. but i'll help you out kus a septum is tricky and can go wrong quickly and it sucks if your septum fails, it could be painfully infected. I'm 19 years old and i've been doing piercings since I was like 15, I did all of mine myself except my tounge. I had my septum when I was 16.
first of all you can get the ring anywhere pretty much. go to the mall or something and go to hot topic lol i'm sure they'll have em there. They're a bit pricey but whatever. or even online, all you need is the hoop you want. It's best to start off with a straight bar so the hole isn'( curved.
also get a clean piercing needle the same gage as your ring. get them both lioke 14g the needles ar eonly like a dollar or 2. dont open it til your about to do it. if you can get a clamp it'll make it 10x easier but thats if you wanna drop 15$ on one. it is worth it tho. anyways you find the cartilage in your septum? if you put ur 2 fingers in ur nostrils and pinch with your nails u shld feel a spot that is softer and not boney but still feels thick. This is where you are gonna pierce.
get the needle thru, and once its through your nose attach the hoop at the end of the needle and pull it should put the ring in the hole and there you have it, septum piercing. healing for a septum sucks. and it takes long, make sure you dont have a cold or anything kus frm now on when you do get sick itll be a hastle with the ring. clean it daily, make sure it doesnt get infected! most importantly wash your hands before and after and anytime you touch it really, until its healed. and thats it. hope your parents dont fget too pissed & make you take it out lmfao. then you lose both ways kus you spent alll that money & went threw all that pain for nothing. Think about it carefully

My answer isn't based on your age- a Septum piece involves Cartilage, you need a good piercer fôr that. You can buy the jewelery for it at any Piercing studio, but bc it is not a simple tissue pierce, you need an experienced piercer to do it to avoid Damage & Infection. (catiledge infection can go systemic and get scary bad.)
Not opposed to it at all: you have thought about it alot, sound like a responsible kid- the only irresponsible & possibly harmful thing you are contemplating is Not Having an experienced catiledge piercer do this.
(...if u do it yourself & it goes bad- Your Folks will NEVER allow another hole in your body until you are old enough to sign the consent.)
Do your research, find a reputable one in your area, and go from there.
Good Luck- Sanitation, and method are Big Deals in a successful cartiledge pierce, it could go fine doing it on your own- but when they go BAD- they go real bad and often require surgery to repair to restore proper breathing through your nose, not a cosmetic surgery.)
Best of Luck. (You can ofcourse find a step by step online, lots of kids do it- but the risk of it going bad, is high.)

OK, I'm not going to tell you to go get it professionally done because I did mine myself too, but you should probably get it professionally done. First off, you need to be ready for pain. Secondly it's hard to get it straight by yourself.
Here's a list of things you will need:
pre-packaged sterilized hollow point needle (16g or 14g)
pre-packaged sterilized horseshoe ring (16g or 14g, same as needle)
(optional) pre-packaged sterilized septum clamps or cork (just makes things easier)
rubbing alcohol (to sterilize the horseshoe ring if you can't get a packaged one)
alcohol pads or q-tips (to sterilize your nose)
permanent marker
gloves!
Step 1: Take your pointer finger & thumb and feel for your 'sweet spot' on your septum. You should feel a section of skin that is thin in between two harder sections. This is where you need to pierce. If you pierce above it, you're piercing cartilage. It will be EXTREMELY painful and most likely crooked.
Step 2: Put on your gloves. Take your permanent marker and mark your sweet spot where you want to pierce. This should be towards the tip of your nose, rather than farther back. This is important if you want to hide your piercing by flipping up the jewelry. Also sterilize the the location of your piercing.
Step 3: (if you have septum clamps) Place them where you marked place a rubber band around them so they're tight but not painful. Let them hang lose, if they're straight you placed them right, if they're not, adjust it until they're straight.
Step 3: (if you have cork) Place the cork in your nostril (yay fun) so the needle has something to push into
Step 3: (with neither cork or clamps) Position your needle as straight as you can and get ready to push.
Step 4: Take a deep breath in and when you let it out, push the needle through as hard as you can. Be sure not to stab your other nostril while doing this.
Step 5: Take a breather and get your jewelry ready. Line up the end of your jewelry with the end of your needle and guide them both through so the needle comes out and the jewelry goes in. This can be tricky so take your time.
Step 6: Screw on the ball to the jewelry.
Step 7: Flip it up and enjoy! (if you're hiding it)
Never clean your piercing with alcohol or peroxide. Clean it with anti-bacterial soap & warm water twice a day. Don't touch your piercing without washing your hands. You can buy all of these tools on ebay or http://www.razorbladeproducts.com/ you can also buy the tools from piercing shops, but you probably need to be of age.
