In general, how long does it take to get the results of a treadmill stress test?

I had my test 5 days ago and I'm still waiting for the results.

I have always gotten mine the same day I had the test and that goes for a chemical test as well. If you are waiting on results from a stress test it makes me wonder why you were not told the same day you had the test. Call your Dr and ask him the results, he has had plenty of time to read them by now.

They always stop when you heart rate reaches 200. This may mean something as simple as you are not in good physical shape and your heart is not conditioned for that type of exercise. You will have to wait and see what you doctor tells you about your test but, you could start a daily exercise program after you get the test results back by walking 20-30 minutes each day at a brisk pace which will soon put your heart and lungs in excellent physical condition.

The data is produced in real time, but you must wait for the cardiologist to read and interpret the results. Actually no news is good news, every time I do a stress test they call three days later and say Dr. wants to see me tomorrow.

Usually, a cardiologist will interpret the results, if you are referring to a Stress ECG. Five days seems awfully long to me. Call your Dr. office every day and ask if they have the results. Usually it's the office staff that gets too busy to follow up with things like this. I'm betting it is normal or they would have called you sooner. good luck
