Hello! ☺
Thrash metal in general took me a while to get used to. I initially didn't like bands like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, etc. but several more listens after first listening to them, they grew on me.

Most of the Celtic/folk/prog/rock groups from the early 70ies until I got rid of my old Garrard turn table & lousy amp & crummy speakers & bought some nice expensive stuff. Everything sounded so much better I knew I had made the right choices.
My downstairs neighbors did not appreciate my purchases unfortunately.
I still have the same Polk speakers, gave my thorens turntable away as well as all my old 33's.
Favorite 2011 album: Mumford And Sons perhaps?
2012: I have no freaking idea as yet. Nothing that grabs me by the short ones I suppose, so to speak.

Yes, both my favorite and second favorite bands, Rage Against the Machine and Nine Inch Nails. For both I listened to one song. Killing in the Name for RATM and The Hand That Feeds for NIN. But then never tried them past that. Then I listened to more by them, and now they're my top two bands.

I wasn't too keen on Arctic Monkeys' Suck It And See on the first couple listens, but I love it now. Same with Gaga's Born This Way.
