How can Andre The Giant went undefeated for 15 years without ever winning World Title+7 other questions?
Please answer in kayfabe and real manner.
Winning World Title is the goal of any WWE Superstars. Everybody wants to become a World Champion. Andre The Giant's the most dominant wrestler ever, he went undefeated for 15 years. But he went undefeated 15 years for nothing. He never won World Title. Instead, he won World Title after he past his prime and that's only 45 seconds.
How can being 15 years undefeated doesn't earn him any shot at World Titles? And how can he's undefeated for 15 years but never facing the World Champion, the man on top of the mountain?
Other questions : (these 7 please answer in real manner)
1. When was Andre The Giant's prime years? From when to when?
2. What make Andre The Giant different from other giants? Other giant such as Big Show is also pretty agile, he can also do dropkick in his prime. So, what's make Andre special?
3. If Andre The Giant debuted in WWE now, would he still be portrayed as dominant as he was in his prime and 15 years undefeated streak?
4. If Andre The Giant debuted in WWE now, will he still end up as one of WWE's greatest Legend like The Undertaker? Or will he be just a Legend like Big Show?
5. If Andre The Giant debuted in WWE now, how many times World Champion he would be?
6. Can you name any wrestler from any promotion since 1990s who's more dominant than a prime Andre The Giant? If there isn't one, who is the most dominant after a prime Andre The Giant?
7. Do you think a prime Andre The Giant could beat a prime The Undertaker at Wrestlemania for The Streak?
BQ : 8. Why do Vince McMahon finally give Andre The Giant one World Title reign the lasted for 45 seconds after Andre has been an old washed up has been??? Why won't he just let Andre The Giant retire as the best wrestler to never win World Title, instead of giving that crap 45 seconds reign
Note : So, please have 2 answers on my question. Real means why WWE decides to book like that, Kayfabe means why do that thing happen in kayfabe (so we pretend WWE isn't scripted). For other 7 questions, please only answer in real manner.
Note: I can't believe everyone doesn't pay attention to my note. Please give 2 answers : real and kayfabe manner. So, you have to explain why WWE decides Andre went undefeated for 15 years without ever winning World Title and in kayfabe how come he never granted a shot after undefeated for years?

KAYFABE: Andre did get the occasional World Title shot (not just WWF) but always won by DQ or countout, so he never actually won the title. The Champs really didn't want to defend against Andre because of Andre's size and skills, so they always managed to get DQ-ed or counted out. To the best of my knowledge, Andre didn't challenge face Champs, only heels (before turning heel on Hogan).
Andre wasn't really undefeated for 15 years in a row; that was just a marketing ploy by the WWF. But he did only lose a couple of times (fairly) in those 15 years. And went 60 minutes to time limit draws with Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel.
Andre didn't stay in any particular promotion long enough to establish himself as a contender for championships. He moved around constantly, wrestling all over the world for whoever he wanted. His spot on the card as "special attraction" generally took top billing and was the main event. It could be argued that Andre being on the card was more important, and was a bigger draw, than even the World Champ. Really, Andre was World Champ in everything but name only. He got the money and perks the World Champs got, was billed as "special attraction" and got the main events. He didn't need a World Title.
NON-KAYFABE: Andre was over 7 feet tall and about 500 pounds, and he could move very well for such a gigantic man. Nowhere would it have been believable that a 230-250 pound normal-size man could out-wrestle and pin the Giant. I've written here many times that Andre could wrestle, do drop-kicks, and even run, but I wrote that to illustrate the difference between Andre in his prime and the pain-racked nearly-crippled Andre his last few years as a heel in the WWF, NOT to claim that Andre could wrestle like Bret Hart. I wrote that to counteract the sad comments I read from fans who DON'T know Andre claiming Andre was a "washed-up has-been". In his prime, nobody could beat Andre. Nobody. He only lost when HE wanted to, to further a feud or angle. Nobody could shoot on him and actually beat him. Andre would have crushed anybody who tried.
So putting any World Title on Andre would have meant Andre being World Champ for as long as he wanted because nobody COULD beat him. Not that Andre would have hijacked the title and kept it forever, but that it wouldn't be believable for a normal-size wrestler to beat him.
Andre was "the eighth wonder of the world", the most popular wrestler in the world in the 70's and early 80's (until Hogan exploded world-wide), a "special attraction" who sold out arenas anywhere in the world he wrestled. He didn't need any championship to make him more famous than he already was. Plus, Andre enjoyed the freedom of being able to wrestle when and where HE wanted. A championship would have put a stop to that as he would have to wrestle according to the promotion's schedule.
1: From 1970 (when he debuted in Japan) through 1981 (his feud with Killer Khan). After that, the disease that made him a giant started really affecting his body and his health. His weight ballooned up and his mobility steadily decreased.
2. His "look" and the way he was presented by promoters all over the world. He looked like a fairy tale giant, a monster, but was really a "gentle giant" and very friendly. He was presented AS a giant who couldn't be beaten, and he made his reputation winning battle royals all over the world. Other giants like Big Show and Khali are just presented as bigger-size "normal" wrestlers, who win and lose just like everybody else.
3. Hell no! The WWE has a well-earned reputation for regularly screwing up good things. They'd make Andre no different from The Big Show, Khali, and every other big guy. It was Vince SENIOR, more than any other promoter, who made Andre into the "eighth wonder of the world", the unbeatable giant. It was Vince JUNIOR who turned him into a "jobber to the stars" to get Hogan and the Warrior over.
4. He'd be at the same level as The Big Show, I think.
5. How many times has Big Show been World Champ? Andre would have about the same amount. It should be noted that Andre liked Vince Senior, he respected the man and liked working for him. He tolerated (but didn't particularly like) Vince Junior and helped him out only out of respect for Vince Senior.
6. Bruiser Brody. Oh wait, you said since 1990. Okay...Vader in Japan and WCW before Hulk Hogan killed the monster by not selling any of Vader's offense. Before Hogan sabotaged Vader's career Vader was the monster everybody was afraid of and very few could beat.
7. Without a doubt. Taker is a better wrestler, no question. But Andre was 6 inches taller, nearly 200 pounds larger, and Taker's power offense wouldn't be very effective against The Giant. Andre was too big, too tough, and too strong.
Source(s): BQ: That was to get The Million Dollar Man over as a despicable low-life rat bastard heel who would BUY a World Title rather than get in the ring and win it himself. As far as I know Andre and Ted Dibiase Senior were friends (they'd worked together in other promotions), and Andre actually liked Hogan, too (or at least liked working with him). Andre did that to help his friends in their storyline. And by that time, Andre's body was breaking down and he could barely walk without assistance. He couldn't be World Champ in the state of health he was in. - ?Lv 49 years ago
He was one of the big names who didn't need a title, maybe because of his size and strength.
1. 1975-1985
2. His size made him famous. He also had many achievement in and out of the ring.
3. I don't think so. Look at what happened with Big Show, he was shown crying when he accidentally hit AJ. The same thing (by that I mean he might show weaknesses and giants these days are not feared like Andre in his days) might happen with Andre if he were to debut in WWE in the present.
4. If he was as good as before and if Show wasn't around, then probably yes.
5. About 4-5.
6. I can only think of Undertaker as I wasn't able to witness wrestling from the 90s.
7. Yes and no. Andre's size is good for obvious reasons and bad because it makes him slow. Taker's size is not a problem because even though he's almost a 7 footer, he's still fast and can also be a high flyer.
8. Probably to give Andre the honor of being champ again before retiring but I don't think he needed it that time since he was already a big star.
Are my answers good enough? Lol

Real: If they ever put the belt on Andre, there was nobody realistically could take it off him. None of the other giants were in Andre's class and none of the smaller wrestlers could match up to his size. One of the things about the world title is the excitement of figuring out who's going to get it next. With Andre, the answer would have been nobody. BTW, Andre did have several championship matches. Invariably, they would end in a disqualification or countout thereby leaving the title with the champ.
Kayfabe reason: It's a conspiracy keeping the man from his rightful place.
BQ8. The 45 second championship wasn't real, it was kayfabe. Vince wanted to move the title from Hulk Hogan to Randy Savage and they wouldn't give the title from one fan favorite to another without sending it through a heel first. Therefore the storyline of Andre (who really never cared about titles) winning the championship from Hogan and giving it to Dibiase. And the resulting "tournament" won by Savage.

Because Andre the Giant wasn't the typical "WWE Superstar" in the senses like wrestlers like Cena, Hogan and Edge. He was a special attraction. His fabled "undefeated streak" for 15 years wasn't just within the WWE, it was touted and promoted throughout the wrestling world, not just in the "WWE Universe". That means that Andre himself was the attraction, not his competition for titles (until later at least, with Hogan).
KAYFABE: Because Andre wasn't all that concerned with world championships. He was busy traveling the world simply vanquishing all who came onto his path. (Sorry, it's tough for me to answer this way because Andre was a few years before my time)
1) I'd say that his prime came during the late 70's up until he faced Hogan in that legendary Wrestlemania battle they had. After that it was pretty downhill for Andre
2) Andre was "special" and unique because of two main things: The first is that, quite simply, Andre was the first. He was one of the first true giants in the business, and unlike today where there seems to be a new Andre or Big Show wannabe every few months, Andre was the ONLY giant around in the WWF. Therefore, he was an attraction, and totally unique from anything else around. The second reason is that most people were unaware that professional wrestling was scripted back then, or at least, they weren't nearly as informed as they are today. That added to Andre's mystique. Today, The Big Show or The Great Khali lose to vastly physically inferior opponents, and we don't bat an eye. That wasn't the case in Andre's day.
3) He would still be dominant, but not nearly as much as he was in his day. I would equate Andre to pretty much where The Big Show is now: The occasional main event run but otherwise pretty much a top-flight mid-carder and special attraction. In today's era of pro wrestling, which has the shortest attention span in history, there is no way ANYONE would have had a 15 year undefeated streak.
4) I think he would be more in the current Big Show mold. Still a Hall of Famer (I think The Big Show will wind up in the Hall of Fame when he retires) but not in the same class as someone like The Undertaker (although, to be fair, few are in the class of The Undertaker).
5) Again, probably similar to The Big Show. I would guess in the neighborhood of five title runs or so. It's much, much easier to win world championships in today's WWE, where the longest title runs we see rarely exceed three months in length (and where there are two "world" championships). I could easily see Andre was multi-time champion.
6) The only two names that come to mind at first thought for me are The Undertaker since about 2007 and Hulk Hogan during the initial heyday of the nWo. Despite rarely wrestling in the last few years (and being a special attraction in his own right) The Undertaker has consistently been the most dominant force in the WWE. When Hogan first formed the nWo he was by far the most dominant wrestler in WCW history. I don't think he lost for about a year and a half, and when he finally did to Sting at Starrcade, Sting had to cheat.
7) Man, that's a hard choice. To say the least, it would be just about as epic as you could get. However, and this is probably a result of my never seeing Andre in his prime (or at all) and growing up with the legend of The Undertaker, but I think that The Undertaker would win. However, it would be the stiffest test of The Streak, by far.

Can a wrestler be considered a legend without ever winning a World Championship?, that's like asking "Does Shawn Michaels deserve to be in The Hall of Fame because he hasn't won as much World Titles as some other legends have?", and the answer to both of those questions are... yes! In my opinion it doesn't matter how many World Titles you've won, or if you haven't ever won a World Title, you are a legend when you have given the WWE fans everything you have and put on a show that entertains them. If you are just in the business for the money, and don't care about the company or any of the WWE fans, then they shouldn't be considered legends, legends are people who nobody will forget.

Andre The Giant was never a title contender. He was an attraction and he traveled throughout the world never staying in one place to long. The end of his career in the mid 1980s to early 1990s he stayed primarily in the WWF. He was not undefeated over the time period and he was never 7 foot 4 inches. Those claims were all kayfabe just to enhance his legend.

Real: If he held on to the title it wouldn't be believable.. he wouldn't lose the title for years, it would be impossible to beat a man like Andre the Giant. It's like putting the title on a midget, he'll just drop it in minutes. The scenarios aren't believable.
Kayfabe: He wasn't granted a shot mainly because of the title scene being full. You had Hogan dominating the WWF Championship and him having number 1 contenders. Andre didn't really get that chance to shine because the spots to main event were pretty booked.
1) 70s to 80s, that was when Andre was truly unstoppable, when Andre was a dominant force and when he was feared by many wrestlers in the locker room.
2) Andre was taller, thats really the main difference of Andre to the other giant wrestlers, he was the tallest of all the giant wrestlers. I think he was around 7'10 or 7'11, not really sure but he was over 7'5 tall.
3) Nope. Had Andre been introduced to the WWE now he would've lost in 4 months. WWE is known for messing up alot of wrestlers and making them look weak when they should've won, or there not being used enough. Andre would've suffered with all the backstage politics and the bigger roster.
4) It's hard to tell because we don't know how Andre would be portrayed in the WWE of today. My guess would be that he would simply be on the likes of the Big Show in my opinion.
5) 0, I can't see Andre being a main eventer when you have alot of "Super Hero" baby faces and the chances of him winning under those conditions would be tough. Andre would have plenty of opportunities but no world title reign.
6) Goldberg. He was the only other dominant guy from the 90s that looked intimidating. He sucked in the ring, but he made up for it with his intimidating look he had.
7) Without a doubt. Andre was a guy who could make you tap out in 10 seconds, he was one of those guys who could put up a good match and still win. However, if this was a submission match, then Taker will win. Giants always tend to tap out to submission holds because of their size.
8) Because Andre probably didn't want the title, he wanted to look more of a heel and selling the title so he got more heat from the crowd.

Andre didn't need a world title. He had something much better, unbelievable strength. The was the star attraction with or without a title. And that's ever Superstars/Wrestlers goal.
1.The 70s
2.His unique features, heavy accent and the love of his fans.
3.Not at first,he would ned to establish himself first.
4.He would be bigger than Cena!
5.Since WWE hands it out like candy these days,I say about 5-7x.
6.Triple H,Austin and The Rock.
7.Absolutely.In his prime,Andre was just as strong. In Undertaker's prime,he was as strong as the script said he was.
8.Andre was the "Immovable Object" from other promotions and, like many other "outsiders", Andre was used to push one of McMahon's Superstars (Hulk Hogan).Vince didn't want Andre,he wanted Andre's reputation. He did the same to Harley Race later on.
