I had a lot of fun visiting Rotorua, the thermal area----free hot water is quite a concept. Also recommend a tour of Waitomo, the glow worm caves. There are numerous inexpensive bus tours on the north island; probably the south as well.

if you want inexpensive places to stay, then dont stay in auckland....try a smaller town or something or just search up on websites for places to stay over here...

i would suggest to go to the south island-its much more prettier than the north in my opinion

I agree with jemma. Although, if you can't afford it yet, i don't suggest coming here straight away, you might struggle and you're not a citizen so you'll get very little help. Save up first
