Do I need to cycle my tank if...?
I need to move my female strawberry peacock cichlid to another tank. She's causing too much hostility. Would I need to cycle, say a 10 gallon tank, if I put rocks and water into it from the existing tank? My water perimeters are fine in the other tank.

yes, you would still need to cycle the 10 gallon tank. try to use old filter media, gravel, and decor from your old tank this will cycle the tank much faster, it may take a week or 2 instead of 6 or 8 weeks.
heres my question:

That wouldn't make too much difference, however if you use some filter media from the other established tank in the new tank that SHOULD cycle the tank almost instantly.

Yes you will still need to cycle. The water and rocks will contain some beneficial bacteria but most is in the filter. It will be a short cycle though.

yes! every tank needs cycling. But stuff from your established tank will help and if kept in higher temperature it might even be a speedy cycle. good luck

you wouldn't ONLY if you filled it with ONLY the water from the original tank.
