Just wondering if I can carry a loaded pistol on my belt holster in my vehicle?

You may carry the pistol OPENLY in a car in VA. The interpretation of open is not "hidden from common observation". If the gun cannot be seen when you glance in the driver or passenger window, then it can be considered to be concealed, even if you have it in an open carry holster on your belt. If you have a VA CHP (which is easy to get) or one from a state that VA honors, then you can carry it concealed anywhere in the car. If you do not have a CHP and it is not openly observable, then it must be in a secure container (whether it is loaded or not).

Virginia has state wide open carry. Open carry in your vehicle is legal as long as the pistol is in plain sight. There is NO stipulation about it being unloaded.

Unless you have a concealed carry license it probably has to be unloaded. Not 100% sure about Virginia though.
