Congrats on your Avatar photo. It's been around for a long while and makes you look really young. I'll bet that if you posted a more current one, you'd receive some of those job offers as Santa. But, maybe not. I'm not taking a shot at you here my friend. But then, if you did post a more recent photo, there's also the possibility that you'd get one of those advertisement cards in the mail. You know, the ones that look like they're from the government, but end up being from a funeral arrangements outfit informing you that your government burial benefit is way too small compared to the cost of the big splash you really deserve on your final day. But this is not what you asked about . . . oh ya, who is the oldest SC here? Well, my age can be determined at my profile, if you care to click on my avatar and take a peek at my blurb. But the truth be known, I'm still just a young pup. . . as can be determined by my answer to your BQ below.

BQ: Be 21 soon. I'll be able to buy a drink legal at a bar. Can hardly wait. lol.

    .

    ADDENDUM:

Will the people who took offense to my post and gave me a couple of thumbs down please email me or include an additional comment to their posts to help me understand their sensitivities. Hey, maybe an old guy can still learn something. What is it about this post of mine that caused you to resort to thumbing it down? This is your opportunity to make a difference by explaining your views. If you don't respond, some may think you a wimp in the shadows rather than someone who has a valid point to make and share. The ball is in your court. . .

    POST SCRIPT:

I've noticed that over the past hour, my ratio of TUs to TDs has changed from 5/2 to 7/2. I'm delighted and I'm interpreting the change to being indicative that the two TDs were made in error, and those who made them have since given me two TUs to make up for those errors. I could, of course be wrong about this, but I choose to think positively. I really believe that most of the people in this world are good people. And the few who sometimes behave in a less than complimentary way are simply waiting for the good ones to set a positive example for them to follow. (End of this story, I hope and think.)

    EXPRESSION OF MY SINCERE APPRECIATION:

While this question is still open, let me take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to all of you who have rallied to support me while I experienced what seems to probably have been just a childish troll type of attack utilizing “thumbs-downs.” After posting my earlier paragraph above requesting an explanation for seemingly being targeted that way, I was given yet another thumbs down bringing the total to three. But that effort was countered by a thumbs up to negate it, and then followed by an incredible barrage of twelve more thumbs ups. This surge of kindness sent what I believe to be a clear indication of what the overwhelming power of positive people can achieve to counter the negatives sometimes displayed by the immature who seem to think that being unkind makes them look cool. What they don’t realize is that what they consider cool, is a mere projection of themselves forging their way through life with with occasional bouts of childishness, not knowing that their battles with their insecurities are very transparent to seniors because we’ve already been through the trials that are often part of growing up. Yes, we’ve already been there, seen it all, possibly acted immaturely ourselves at times, and now congregate in the Senior Citizens category of Yahoo Answers for opportunities to set good examples for those who are still just coming along and will hopefully turn out to eventually become upstanding citizens and make their parents proud. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your kind support. I know that in the big picture of life, this little incident won’t even be a small blip on the screen, but it still really felt great to see the good in people surface with such force. You are very kind and I appreciate you very much.

I am 56 but age is a number. If you are healthy and happy it doesn't matter. When I watch the Schmuckers birthdays on the morning news, they announce bd's for folks over a hundred. Always a little blurb about them too. I hear 'still drives' , "Lives on their own', and an assortment of hobbies. I may be considered old by some and young by some but I like this group because it is generally the most sincere and knowledgeable.

Many folks responding I haven't seen for a while. I lost interest when the site became 'infested' with people who were not of my liking. I regret it now because seeing "Old Guy" , DeeJay and others makes my day.

. God Bless us all who have survived. I read a quote recently "Be kind to everyone you meet. For everyone is fighting a terrible battle". So true. We have all had heartache, and our own cross to bear but we still keep on keeping on.

    I'm older then dirt. I'm 75

BQ: The youngest ones on here are the ones that think this section if for Seniors that are in High School.

I hit 75 just last Dec 28. "Ain't it funny how time slips away?"

    I love this group!

BQ, I'm guessing there have been some 13, perhaps younger. Many come only to annoy, but now and then a youngster will post an interesting question.

I am NOT the oldest! Am I? Oh, plz someone tell me I am NOT the oldest Senior Citizen here! It is not polite, young man to ask such a question to women. I didn't and haven't given any TD to anyone here even tho @ times it has been tempting. I only give TU.

Source(s): As old as the hills; older than dirt & then some. Thanx to fcm703!

The answer to your question is that I am 55 ..... but I wanted to mention something.

I would not normally have answered your question - not out of disrespect for you or your posting simply because I am very wary of the reaction to my answers .... I know that a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' mean very little in life but those that are so quick to deliver unkind votes DO have an effect. I have seen decent people chased from some categories because of troll behaviour and it is an every present dark shadow stalking the most innocent of posts. 'OldGuy' actually made me respond to your post - his words were wise and I took them as a clarion call to stand up and be counted. So ... to two of our senior gentlemen contributors I would like to say ... carry on leading the way and others will follow! Thanks to you both!

Oh boy, I bet you don't get many answers from us "girls". lol.

I'd like to think I'm the youngest, but then I'd also have to be a pathological liar.

Hopefully, I'm somewhere in the middle -- ok, I admit it, mid 60's.

Aaauuuggghhh . . . seems like yesterday I was dreading my 40th birthday. Sounds so young now.

That's ok -- I'm baking a cake and you've given me permission to have an extra slice!

I'm not the oldest but must be in the top 5 or 10%. Age doesn't matter it's how you feel that does.

wiz - I'm thinking I'm one of the older Senior Citizen's - but I am

one of the youngest at heart.

    I'm feeling like I'm eighteen again . . . Well maybe it's wishful thinking.

Been listening to George too much.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3c-WBn5cCg

I was 18 - 58 years ago. So that makes me a young 76 year old lady.

DeeJay - soon to be 77 and lovin' life.

Additional Information: No thumbs down here.

To answer your question I think that there is someone who uses this category in the 80s, I am 66 years of age but I will not be the youngest.

Edit - just noticed the above answerer is 90, so it is any advance on 90 please!
