You need to define 'peace'. A debate is all about contradictions and resolving as much of those as possible in a peaceful manner.
If we are talking about the current world order, then peace is just a shield behind which new strategies for cold or violent war gets laid out because we're all fighting for limited resources necessary for sustaining a peaceful life.

Differences don't automatically lead to conflict if we humans can learn to control our egos. When the ego is subdued then differences can only lead to learning.
So I guess the next question is can we learn to control our egos? Maybe. Some do, many don't.
To answer you question more fully we need to define what 'peace' really means and that is a complex question. Suffice it to say that inner peace is challenging but attainable.

Yes it is possible...
Our Household Motto is Peace and Harmony
a difference of opinion does not necessarily
lead to conflict,
when one always wants to be right and is
unwilling to consider different opinions or
cannot agree to disagree then you will have conflict...

Peace is obvious and conflict is stupid for some.
Why fight when you can trade, why argue when you can chat.
So yes,
But theres lots of others who cannot respect differing opinions, so conflict ensues.

There are many different types of possibility. You are going to have to be more specific about what sense of possibility you are referring to, otherwise your answers will vary upon this ambiguouity.
