Nixon was under pressure from the begging of his administration. The voting age was lowered to 18 in 1971; Nixon took the oath in January of 1969. It's only logical that a person called upon to fight for his nation have a say in how his nation is run.

If we followed the lead of other rational, capitalist nations, we wouldn't have our insurance tied to our employment, thus allowing us job freedom and unburdening employers. Australia figured this out and they are doing better than us.

Progressives are very much eugenics (which they extend to society, to all it's parts, as a whole) participants, they wish to remove all that isn't a perfect paradise for them. Since there's nothing perfect, they're removing everything.

Most young people still use their parents for FAFSA information and for room and/or board while in college. It's a rather stupid policy to remove a child from their parent's insurance policy at 18 if they are still in the process of trying to educate themselves on their parents dime. If they so choose, a 26 year old can pay for their own insurance through their job, just like current policies allow. This just covers those who wish to seek out higher education.
