How to get back in shape? Tips? Advice?

I'm about 5'3 and 140 pounds... I've gained a lot of weight lately and can't seem to get motivated again. What exercises should I do? Will rollerblading and jogging help?

    Anything that gets your heart rate up will get your cardio vascular system in shape. Inline skating (Rollerblade is just the name of one company that makes them) and jogging are good for that, if you go fast enough.

    Inline skating has less impact on your joints than jogging and you travel at a much higher speed which some people find more interesting.

    Interesting and fun is the key to get motivated. You have to do something you find as fun instead of as a chore. However, you can make so meting that you would consider a chore into fun by setting a goal such as skating/running a marathon.

    Depending on what else you want to get in shape, you may need to add some light weight training if you want to tone up your upper body. Both skating and jogging will work on the legs (different muscles) with skating working on more of them and also the gluts (butt) and core muscles for balance.

    jogging helps. abs, bicycle, arms, legs, ect. pick an area to work on per day while changing it up; it'll help form getting too bored with it. also when your watching tv or computer or something try to work out on something, its a nice habit to get into to keep you in shape.
