Can dogs purr like cats do?
Whenever I pet my border collie/flat coated retriever mix she makes a sort of snoring relaxed sound...definitely not growling or agressive, but sort of like what appears to be the dog equivalent of a purr?

I don't know about purring like cats, but, mine snort like pigs. So, it is possible. :)
