I had sex about 3 weeks ago and I was on the pill...I'm now on the week when I'm meant to get my period but a condom was also used and we were really careful. I don't know if it could be to do with stress either because for the last few weeks I've been worrying about results and getting into university and everything...I haven't had any symptoms that my period is coming though like cramps or sore boobs but I've definitely been emotional like I usually get before my period.

So on Friday night I went out drinking. I didn't have more than I normally have, and nothing that I don't normally drink. I woke up at about 11 and my stomach/ abdomen area felt tight, almost like hunger pains but I wasn't hungry at all. Later on in the afternoon my tummy just under my belly button started to bloat or swell, and this gradually moved up to the part of my abdomen between my breasts and belly button. I went to the emergency doctor straight away and gave her a urine sample which showed that I actually had a kidney infection. I've been put on a course of antibiotics, but I'm curious to know if my symptoms are typical of a kidney infection?

I haven't heard of anyone with a kidney infection that has had my symptoms, and this makes me a little worried in case the doctor has mis-diagnosed me.

Has anyone had these symptoms with a kidney infection before, or does anyone have any useful information about it? It would be greatly appreciated.

I am an 18 year old female and have never had any kidney, urinary or digestion problems before.

So my debs (prom, except a bigger deal I think) is in October. It's the only event like this in the whole 6 years of secondary school. I found a dress I really like, but it's really plain...I was wondering if you think it's too plain and frumpy, or if it's nice, or any other comments. It's always been the three of us...1 guy 2 girls...And with prom coming up in october and stress of finding dates and everything we promised each other that we wouldn't go with each other because one girl would be left out...last night he asked her to prom and I had to act happy but then I went home and texted her that she shouldn't have done that. I'm really hurt because it blatantly means I've always been the one less liked and it's the principal of it too...we were just talking about it earlier that day and then she goes and accepts it? It's completely unfair...btw our prom only happens once in our lives so it's a huge deal and we wait 6 years for it...but anyway she hasn't replied to my text and he hasn't texted me either...i feel like i shouldn't have said anything now but my mom said that i shouldn't apologise for being angry because I'm not in the wrong. I thought I could trust them with my life and now I'm starting to doubt it..What do you think I should do on Monday in school? it will probably be awkward..if she doesn't reply should I talk to her about it or just try to act like nothing happened?

Whenever I pet my border collie/flat coated retriever mix she makes a sort of snoring relaxed sound...definitely not growling or agressive, but sort of like what appears to be the dog equivalent of a purr?

So we've been texting for a while and we know we like each other but nothing seems to be progressing for some reason...Anyway I asked him about this new club open in town and said I really wanna go it seems cool...Then he replies "yeah I wouldn't mind going either haha" Is he asking me out or not? Do I ignore this and just change the subject? I'd like to go out with him but idk what he means by that. How should I respond?

Every now and then I'll go out to my back garden to look at the stars and I've notice that some of them 'twinkle' (I know this is due to atmospheric changes and the light refracting etc.) But there is always this one star (I don't know if it is actually a star) that's always in the same position but the light does not change...it always appears as white light and is always the brightest object in the sky.

I was wondering if this body is actually a planet? Or something like a galaxy or nebula etc.?

My dad suffers with depression and anxiety but I don't want to tell him because I fear it will make him worse and he might think it's something to do with him. I have two good friends but one of them just doesn't like to tell people (even me, her closest friend) her problems...It's just how she deals with it. So I don't want to tell her either because I don't think it's fair to dump all my problems on her when she never does to me (even though I'd have no problem if she did) And my other friend won't understand because he gets awkward really easily.

I can't afford professional help at the moment...but nothing's going right for me...I feel ugly, fat, no self- esteem and I just wish I was a completely different person. I can't find a job, study is hard and I'm broke. I know everyone's going to tell me that things will get better and just talk to someone but I physically can't bring myself to do it. And this isn't even the half of it. I've been searching online for similar things but I feel like nobody feels like me...words just can't describe.

I need to know for important Physics homework.

So I'm in my last year of school in Ireland (6th year) and in june there are major exams that the results of determine which university and course we get in to. The last 6 years of secondary school have built up to this year and these exams and there is just so much stress because I don't know how to et organised to study, and what to start studying! If anyone has any tips that may help please don't hessitate to let me know! I am 18 and I want to do a Nursing degree next year if this helps. Thank you everyone in advance! :)

Okay so a few days ago Annie was playing outside, rolled in some poo and got it all over her collar and her neck...we gave her a bath and scrubbed her down well, with anti-flea shampoo but afterwards she still stank! So the next day we gave her another bath but she still stinks of poo! It doesnt look like there's any on her and she hasn't worn her collar since. Does anyone know why she still smells!
