Investors, choose the best small cap mutual among these three: FSCRX or LCGRX or JSCVX?

We have a new 401k provider at work, and here are my small cap choices. Those of you in the know, is there a stand out among the three? I am 43 and I can ride out a few highs and lows...

I am appalled that someone would suggest choosing a fund based on one day's performance. That is just ridiculous.

You should learn to do a bit of research on mutual funds. Morningstar is a great source for a quick overview. Sample link below. Don't just look at the number of stars, but at some of the key data:

    - Expense ratio (lower is better)

    - Turnover (lower is usually better)

    - 10 year track record (how has the fund done over the long term, so higher is better)

In this case, FSCRX has the best track record on all three of those metrics, so that would be my recommendation. Fidelity is a very good company, so that helps too.

I would have to say JSCVX. The NASDAQ was down a half a percent today, yet JSCVX was only down .05%....which is basically flat.

That means it showed relative strength to the overall market....which is a very good sign. The other two were down a lot more than JSCVX.
