Do you really think that when gay marriage is legalized it is going to change the discussion at all?

The abortion discussion did not change. Morality will not disappear with societal acceptance of a sin.

Update:

Splash those few who thought that were wrong. The Bible is very clear on the sin of homosexuality

Certainly the morality is eternal, whether or not the state promotes promiscuity. But it is a mistake to talk about "legalizing gay marriage." There is only one marriage, and it is the permanent mating union of a man and woman. That relationship is available to any consenting, unmarried, non relative mating couple.

The question before the nation is whether or not to create a legal fiction involving unmarried, sexually promiscuous persons and call it marriage, which would degrade the real thing. As the example of Scandinavia has shown, people lose interest in making actual marriages under that fiction, and that means plenty more kids are raised in the poverty of single-parent families.

In states recognizing fictitious marriage, religious adoption agencies have been forced out of business, and schoolchildren have been subjected to homosexual propaganda beginning in kindergarten. That's just the beginning.

    Cheers,

    Bruce

It's not going to really matter as what is the point to the discussion, to those of us for equality, is that there is equality. Once there is, and it's guaranteed by the law, then all the huffing and puffing from the bigots aren't going to matter. Not only that, but once it is the law and common place for same sex couple to marry in the US, then as in other countries, it will be found to be less and less of an issue until the ones that still hold to the bigotry are just an annoying minority...much like the WBC.

The first correct thing in American society is remove all marriage from the legal books. It doesn't belong.

The debate would then be so minor it wouldn't merit much in discussion.

I highly doubt many homosexuals would even get married if there were no "benefits".

To all that did, no one would even notice.

The point is there is no discussion. God created marriage when He gave Eve to Adam. He sees any counterfeit of that relationship as sin and rebellion against the way He created us to live and love.

Abortion is not at all the same issue as gay marriage; they have significant differences that cause different levels of acceptance and frame/shape the debate.

I dont care if the discussion changes or not. All I care about is being able to see my boyfriend in the hospital if he gets very sick or very hurt. I dont care if anyone thinks its immoral. I dont even care about marraige.

I just will not stand for any situation where I can be kicked out of my boyfriend's life because his parents dont approve. And if thats how it must be done, so be it.

It will change the discussion about equal rights for all citizens regarding marriage, because then we'll have equal rights for all citizens regarding marriage, and there won't be any need to point out that we should have it any more.

Seriously, you couldn't figure that out for yourself?

    Scared of change, huh? Sad.

    peace.

edit: the bible is also very clear that you're supposed to be worrying about your own "sins," and not those of others. Yet you seem to manage to completely ignore that...

Very true. If the entire world believes the sun is cold, does it stop making it hot ? What is true will not stopping being true because the majority calls it a lie.

I don't think anyone really cares what you say as long as It doesn't prevent them from having equal rights. After its legalized...and it will be...you can spout your hateful crap all you like. And I will very much enjoy letting you waste your life worrying about it.
